After having a marathon game yesterday, I'm placing my MLB Picks against the Arizona Diamondbacks today as they host the Atlanta Braves. I think the underdog Braves have the better pitcher in this matchup.

Surprising Favorite
Well, not so surprising because Arizona is at home.  MLB odds makers have come out with a line of around +102 for the Braves.  That is decent value on a pretty good team with a good pitcher on the mound.  Arizona has been good on their games back from road trips so far this year, but I like Atlanta to break that trend today.

Understand How to Weigh Money Line MLB Odds vs. True Probability

On the mound
Archie Bradley gets the start for the Dbacks.  The 22 year old has been pretty good at times this year but he comes in with a 5.28 ERA and a WHIP of 1.53.  In his last three times on the mound he has allowed 14 earned runs in only 10 innings.  For the Braves 24 year old Alex Wood comes in with a 3.50 ERA and 1.50 WHIP in nine starts.  On the road this year he is 3-0 with a 2.37 ERA.

Send them home
At home Arizona has been solid this year at the plate, actually their overall numbers are impressive ranking 3rd in the league in runs per game and ranked in the top ten in most offensive categories.  The Braves rank in the middle to the bottom of the league offensively, but they had a good outing yesterday getting to Madison Bumgarner then rallying in the ninth inning.  Also, they have scored 15 runs in their last two games in San Francisco, both wins.

I think we are catching Arizona in a tough spot, so place your MLB picks on the Braves that are in a good spot after they rallied to win yesterday.  Atlanta should continue to roll.
