The Atlanta Braves have won three of the four prior contests against the San Francisco Giants in 2022, and they're just 1 1/2 games behind the New York Mets for the top spot in the NL East. The club hopes to bounce back after two straight losses to the Seattle Mariners. Here are our Braves-Giants picks.

The Braves and Giants meet for the fifth time in 2022 on Monday. They'll do it with October baseball nearly secure for one team, and the other all but officially out of the race.

Atlanta is 8-2 in its last 10 outings after the team's eight-game win streak ended this past weekend. Meanwhile, the Giants are struggling while 13-17 over the club's previous 30 matchups. But San Francisco has won two straight contests after taking the final two games of its series this past weekend against the Chicago Cubs.

Here are my MLB picks and predictions for Monday night’s Braves-Giants matchup (odds via FanDuel Sportsbook, BetMGM, and DraftKings Sportsbook; Pick confidence is based on a 1-to-5 scale).

Braves vs. Giants Odds Analysis

The Braves are the moneyline favorites, ranging from -140 at DraftKings to -185 through BetMGM. Atlanta is getting 77% of the cash and 84% of the tickets.

The total ranges at various sportsbooks from 6.5 at BetMGM to 7.5 at DraftKings. The Under is drawing 79% of the cash and 57% of the tickets.

Braves vs. Giants Projected Pitchers

Spencer Strider (10-4, 2.69 ERA, 0.97 WHIP) vs. Alex Cobb (5-6, 3.68 ERA, 1.29 WHIP)

Spencer Strider has been fantastic for the Braves in 2022. He’s averaging 10 strikeouts over his last four starts. The hurler is also producing a remarkable 13.6 K/9 and 3.1 BB/9 across his last 120 2/3 innings. Atlanta is 5-0 over his past five starts.

Strider hasn’t posted many bad outings in 2022. However, he did struggle during his only game against the Giants on June 21. Strider threw just 3 2/3 innings, allowing six earned runs and one walk while striking out four batters. That outing could be in the back of his mind on Monday.

Alex Cobb will get the ball for the Giants. It’s been an inconsistent season for Cobb, but he’s been excellent recently, and even more so at home. Cobb is 2-2 with a 3.12 ERA, 1.29 WHIP, and 10 K/9 since the All-Star break. His home numbers are even better, with an ERA of 2.57, a 1.11 WHIP, and 10 K/9.

Cobb is 1-0 with a 1.93 ERA and 12 strikeouts during his career against Atlanta.

Braves vs. Giants ML Pick

Braves (-140) ★★★

Simply put, the Braves are the better team. They boast one of the best offenses with multiple top-tier threats in Dansby Swanson, Austin Riley, and Michael Harris II. The club is 10-3 when scoring four-plus runs over its last 13 games.

Atlanta is also 13-4 in its last 17 road games and a remarkable 64-26 over the team's previous 90 contests overall. So the Braves should be able to score enough, even with Cobb’s excellent form at home.

Braves vs. Giants O/U Pick

Under 6.5 (+105) ★★

The Over/Under varies in this matchup at different sportsbooks, and rightfully so because the matchup is a coin toss. But take the plus-money odds and go with the Under.

Cobb has been excellent at home, and he's enjoyed success against this Braves lineup, though the sample size isn’t huge. There's much more on the line for Atlanta, but the Braves likely won't explode offensively. The Giants' pitching staff has been too solid over the last few weeks.

While Strider struggled against the Giants earlier in 2022, the club's offense has been quiet since, and he’s only been getting better.

Braves vs. Giants Prop Pick

Strider over 8 strikeouts (-106) ★★

This is a revenge game for Strider. It’s hard to argue against a guy averaging 13.6 K/9.

The Giants’ offense hasn’t been potent after a strong showing to start off the campaign. Third baseman David Villar is their hottest hitter right now, and he's 10-for-32 over his last 10 games with four home runs and seven RBIs.
