The MLB Player Props are out and most of the time, the bettor is going to find a decisive edge through trends or recent play and I have. Let's run down some of the options and make our picks.

Reds vs. Nationals MLB Picks:

Will Clint Robinson Record A Hit?: Yes -200...No +160
This is pretty much a hit or miss as Robinson is far from a decent player that's been on a nice run as of late. Although he was unable to get a hit in his last game, he's hit safely in 6 out of his last 9 games and faces an unpredictable pitcher in DeScalfani. The odds on the yes have went down as a hitless day will do that to a player. I'm going to show a little faith in Robinson as he's shown the ability to bounce back. Make a small play on the yes option.

Padres vs. Pirates MLB Picks:

Total Strikeouts For James Shields: Over 6.5 -105....Under 6.5 -125
James Shields is far from a big game player as his nickname indicates, but he did get off to a 6-0 start with a little run support help from his team. Shields has been merely average, sporting an ERA above 4.00, but he has had the ability to make opposing players strike out often. 123 strikeouts in 104 innings is way above average, averaging more than a strikeout per inning. This game hinges upon how many innings will he pitch? I'm going to say he's up to the challenge at Pittsburgh and go over the reachable 6.5.

Free MLB Prop Pick: Over 6.5 -105

Total Strikeouts For A.J. Burnett: Over 6 -105...Under 6 -125
I want to stay in that game as Burnett is having a splendid season and is strikeout machine at his advanced age for a major league pitcher. That said, the Pittsburgh Pirates' Burnett has cooled off a bit, with 6 or more strikeouts in just 2 out of his last 6 games. I think that he'll overperform here as the game should be close, but off of his recent history, you must stay away from the over as the MLB betting odds indicate.

Free MLB Prop Pick: Under 6 -125

Cardinals vs. Cubs MLB Picks:

Will Jorge Soler Record a hit? Yes -175...No +145
We know that the Cubs will get the pitching support tonight with Jon Lester. It's guys like Soler that need to step up as this is a huge game against the division leading St. Louis Cardinals. The competitive players will be hyped for this game, knowing that there is a 2 game swing involved.

Soler has fallen apart lately, going 0 for his last 11 and just hasn't been hitting at all. A pitcher like Lackey could easily take advantage of this, but this is the type of moment where the player who has no business getting a hit, get's a hit. The numbers are there and no is written all over it, but Soler has the ability and I'm going to say yes and expect a surprising hit.

Free MLB Prop Pick: Yes -175

Braves vs. Brewers MLB Picks:

Will Cameron Maybin Record a Hit? Yes -200...No -160
I remember when Maybin came out of San Diego and he was hyped up to be the next huge star. It never happened....until he went to Atlanta. I've also heard that the Braves might look to get rid of him as he's playing at a very high level, therefore they will get something productive in return for him.

Maybin is having a great season and is on a 5 game hitting streak. He's not overly powerful, but that doesn't matter in this prop MLB pick. Look for Cameron Maybin to extend his hitting streak to 6 games. He's a confident baseball player.
