Our MLB betting odds guru breaks down Game 2 of the ALCS this afternoon between the Royals/Orioles. Read this revealing MLB betting article that culminates with a free MLB pick on the total.

Intriguing ALCS Resumes
The Orioles will host the Royals this afternoon at Camden Yards in Baltimore with the first pitch slated for 4:05 PM ET. This will be Game 2 of the ALCS, the Royals hold a 1-0 lead as a result of an 8-6 win in extra innings last night. According to MLB odds, the Orioles are a -121 moneyline favorite, and the posted total is 7.5. The weather forecast call for a game time temperature of about 57 degrees, cloudy skies, and the wind blowing in from center field at approximately 3 to 8 miles per hour.

Royals Take Cardiac Kids to New Level
Last night’s win marked the 5th consecutive win to start the postseason for the Royals, and incredibly they won 4 of the 5 in extra innings. How rare of an occurrence is that feat? I’m glad that you asked. It’s the first time in MLB history that a team has won 4-games in extra innings during the same postseason. The Royals speed was considered to be their biggest asset heading into this ALCS, and yet, they didn’t steal a base last night. The biggest surprise came in the power department from a Royals team that hit a MLB low 97 home runs during the regular season. Kansas City went deep 3-times last night, including twice during their decisive 3-run 10th inning. Alex Gordon hit a solo homer to lead off the 10th, and then Mike Moustakas added some much need insurance with a 2-run jack later in the inning. The homer was Moustakas’ 3rd of the postseason, and Gordon went 3-for-4 on the night with 4 runs batted in.

The Orioles can lean on the fact that they’ve been very good at Camden Yards this season, going 52-32 (.619) which includes 3 postseason games. On a another positive note, they’ve shown an uncanny ability to come from behind so far in the postseason, erasing a 6-3 deficit during the 8th inning of Game 2 in the ALDS versus the Tigers, and came away with a 7-6 win. Then last night rallied from a 5-1 hole to tie the game, before losing in 10-innings.

Final Analysis
The scheduled starting pitchers this afternoon will be Yordano Ventura of the Royals, and Bud Norris of the Orioles. Ventura was very good in the 4-1 win over the Angels in Game 2 of the ALDS. He was also stellar in 2-starts versus the Orioles this season, and posted a very good 3.04 ERA in 15-starts on the road in 2014. Tillman has gone 4-0 in his last 4-starts with an excellent 1.09 ERA. The Orioles have gone 7-0 in the last 7, and 10-1 in their last 11-games with Tillman as their starter. The home plate umpire today will be Marvin Hudson, and he’s seen 8 of his last 9 go under the total in that role. I look for this one to be in stark contrast to last night’s game, and be a low scoring affair so take the Under for your MLB picks.
