Arizona has taken the first two games of this series, including a 5-2 victory Saturday that gave us a winner with our free MLB pick on the 'under.' The Snakes shoot for the series sweep Sunday afternoon.

Sunday's Betting Odds
In the early betting the best price we could find on San Diego and Ian Kennedy was the -108 offered at Pinnacle, while Arizona and rookie righty Chase Anderson could be found at +102 at Heritage. And most books were listing the total on today's game at 7.5 runs.

Saturday Re-Hash
San Diego tied Saturday's game at 2-2 with a couple of runs in the top of the eighth inning, but a few moments later Arizona SS Didi Gregorius drilled an 0-2 pitch into the right-field seats for a game-winning three-run homer in a 5-2 Diamondbacks victory.

The D'Backs won as +105 home dogs on Saturday's MLB betting line, and the game, to our relief, stayed 'under' its total of 7.5 runs.

Sunday's Starters
Anderson (7-5, 3.71) is 8/16 on quality starts since joining the Arizona rotation back in May. Anderson had been on a pretty good roll, allowing nine ER over his previous six starts, covering 37 innings, but last time out, Tuesday night at Washington, he gave up six runs on six hits and three walks in just two-plus innings.

For the season Anderson has allowed 89 hits through 87 innings, walked 31 and struck out 76. Arizona, a team that's 20 game under .500 overall, is 9-7 in Anderson's starts.

Anderson started once earlier this season against the Padres, giving up four runs – one earned – and eight hits in five innings of a 12-6 Diamondbacks victory.

Kennedy (9-11, 3.72) is 12/26 on quality starts, but is coming off one of his rougher outings of the season, Tuesday against the Dodgers, when he got nicked for five ER and seven hits in five innings of an 8-6 Padres loss. But in his three starts previous to that he had allowed just five ER through 17 innings.

On the season the former D-Back has allowed 145 hits in 157 innings, walked 54 and whiffed 168. San Diego is 12-14 in Kennedy's starts, with the totals leaning toward the 'unders' by a 16-10 margin.

Since being dealt from Arizona to the Padres last summer Kennedy has started three times against his former team, giving up 11 runs and 23 hits through 16 1/3 innings; San Diego lost two of those games, and all three games played 'over' their totals.

Free Pick for Sunday
Once again, we're not sure who's going to win this game, but in expecting bounce-back efforts from both Anderson and Kennedy we'll go with the 'under' 7.5 runs, at the +105 offered at 5Dimes, for our free MLB pick on Sunday's contest.
