San Diego won again Tuesday night, and this time gave us a winner with our free MLB pick by covering on the run line. Which way should we go with our free pick on Wednesday's series finale (6:40 pm ET)?

Wednesday's Betting Odds
In early betting action the best line we could find on San Diego and Ian Kennedy was the -166 offered at Pinnacle, while Colorado and rookie lefty Tyler Matzek could be gotten at +165 at 5Dimes. And most shops were listing the total on Wednesday's game at 6.5 runs.

The Padres could also be found at around +135 giving the run and a half on the run line.

Tuesday Re-Hash
San Diego got seven shutout innings from starter Odrisamer Despaigne and a key two-out, two-run base hit from former Rockie Chris Nelson in the seventh on its to a 4-1 victory. The Pads won as -130 post-time favorites on Tuesday's MLB betting line, and the game played 'under' its total of seven runs.

The Padres also, to our delight, covered against the run line at a price of +155.

Wednesday's Whirlers
This pitching match-up is a rematch of a game played back on July 7, a 6-1 San Diego victory.

Kennedy (8-10, 3.51) is 12/24 on quality starts this season, but he's been wild as of late. Last Friday he held Pittsburgh to two runs through six innings, with three walks, and over his last four starts he's given up nine ER through 22 innings, with 16 walks. Which is strange, because up until then he had walked just 34 all season.

For the year Kennedy has allowed 132 hits in 146 innings, walked 50 and whiffed 155. San Diego is 11-13 in Kennedy's starts, with the totals skewing toward the 'unders' by a 16-8 margin.

Kennedy has started twice against the Rockies this season, allowing four runs and eight hits through 14 innings; the Padres split those two games, and both games played 'under.'

Matzek (2-7, 5.32) is 4/11 on quality starts since joining the Big Club back in June, and 0 for his last two. Last Friday he gave up three runs and walked five in five innings against Arizona, and just before that he got bombed for eight runs in four innings by Detroit.

On the season Matzek has allowed 73 hits in 64 innings, walked 25 and struck out 39. Colorado is just 2-9 in Matzek's starts, with the totals leaning 'under' 4-2.

In that game back on July 7 against the Padres Matzek gave up five runs on eight hits and four walks through six innings.

Free Pick for Wednesday
We're 1-1 with our picks on this series, taking San Diego on the run line twice, which puts us up about a half a unit. And we'll stick with that theory today. So we'll go with the Padres on the run line, getting +135 at YouWager, for our free MLB pick on Wednesday's series finale.
