The Rangers will try to avoid a fourth consecutive loss tonight, but they'll be the clear-cut underdogs in the MLB odds on the road against the White Sox. Check out which way we've decided to go with our sports picks.

Odds Overview
Depending on the sportsbook, Chicago is favored at anywhere from -145 to -150, with Texas available for action at approximately +135.

The O/U for tonight can be locked in at nine runs.

Texas Rangers (Martinez)
The Rangers' miseries continued this past weekend, as they were swept by the Indians in Cleveland. Their overall record now stands at 43-68, putting them an insane 24.5 games behind first place in the AL West.

The second half of the season hasn't been going any better for Texas, that's for sure.

Ahead of tonight, the Rangers have won just four times since the All-Star break. They've yet to win a series either, losing to the Indians, Yankees (twice), Blue Jays and Athletics. Will we see more of the same against the White Sox?

Tonight's scheduled starter is Nick Martinez, who comes in with a 1-7 record to go with a 5.08 ERA and 1.62 WHIP. The right-hander allowed six hits and six earned runs over 5.2 IP in his most recent start, a home encounter with the Yankees.

Perhaps the only encouraging sign for Martinez is that he's been far better on the road than in Arlington. Whereas he's 0-4 with a 7.86 ERA in seven appearances at home, he's recorded a much more effective 3.66 ERA in 11 outings on the road.

Chicago White Sox (Noesi)
It's been a pretty solid start to the second half of the season for the White Sox, as they've gone 9-7 overall.

They were, however, destroyed by Minnesota last night in the series finale against the Twins. Jose Quintana was solid, but the bullpen got completely annihilated and Chicago ended up losing 16-3 in front of their own fans. Embarrassing stuff.

A new opponent awaits now, with Hector Noesi hoping he can get the White Sox off and running in the series. He's struggled just as much as Martinez though, going 5-8 with a 5.21 ERA so far in the 2014 season.

It was more of the same for Noesi his last time on the bump, as he was hit hard for 10 hits and six runs over six innings of work in a loss to Detroit. The 27-year old has gone 2-1 with a 5.03 ERA in three starts since the All-Star break.

Hitting wise, the White Sox have been looking good, hitting .308 as a team so far in the second half of the season. Adam Eaton (.456), Tyler Flowers (.415), Jose Abreu (.373) and Alexei Ramirez (.319) are all hitting over .300 in that span.

MLB Pick
We're feeling confident in backing the OVER with our MLB picks this evening.

Both of these pitchers have been getting beaten up badly, and it all takes is one for implode for us to have a good shot of having success with the play. The White Sox check in at #7 in runs scored (493) and #6 in team batting average (.259), while the Rangers are also in the top ten (#8) in average at .258.

Considering we certainly don't trust either Martinez or Noesi enough to side with a money-line play, we're banking on the OVER cashing. Let's see if the two offenses can get something going in the Windy City tonight.

MLB Pick: OVER 9
