An NL-leading 80th win in their pocket, the Los Angeles Dodgers look to cap off their MLB odds series with Arizona with a sweeping victory over the Diamondbacks.

Don Mattingly has a lineup chock-full of big names at his disposal in Los Angeles. Superstars like Hanley Ramirez, Matt Kemp, Adrian Gonzalez and Yasiel Puig are just a few he can plug in his batting order each game, not to mention an all-star pitching staff.

But where would the Dodgers be this season without Dee Gordon? The shortstop-turned-second baseman has been a consistent igniter at the top of the lineup all year, and came to the rescue Saturday to lead LA to a 5-2 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The victory lifted the Dodgers to just percentage points behind the Washington Nationals for the top spot in the National League standings, and put them on the precipice of sweeping Arizona in today's series finale (4:10 PM ET). Los Angeles is big chalk to pull it off with Zack Greinke on the mound at a -210 to -225 price on the MLB odds. Trevor Cahill is up next in the D-backs rotation, a 7 run total juiced evenly high and low.

Stats Suggest Big Mismatch Of Starting Pitchers
Arizona has dropped Cahill's last three assignments, and also stands 0-3 when the beefy righthander starts against the Dodgers this year. One of those outings was in Australia back in March, the other two starts vs. LA coming at home for a 13.50 ERA in the combined 11.1 IP. Cahill also has two relief appearances against the Dodgers, both in Los Angeles where he held them hitless and scoreless over four frames.

Zack Greinke will have had a full week between starts when he takes the bump at Chavez Ravine on Sunday. He was outstanding in his previous outing, an easy 'under' winner for those following our free MLB picks, going eight full frames in San Diego and allowing the Padres only a run on four hits. Unfortunately for both him and the Dodgers, the effort didn't end in victory as the Pads walked off with a 2-1 decision in 10 innings.

The Floridian has also been outstanding in three assignments vs. the D-Backs this year, Greinke and LA winning two of those tilts while Greinke surrendered just two runs -- both coming plateward via solo homers -- in 19.1 combined innings.

Umpire Notes, Final Thoughts & A Free Pick
Scott Barry has been a good friend to 'under' bettors, 16 of his 25 plate assignments never reaching the scoreboard marks. The 38 year old from Battle Creek, Michigan has not made many friends with those wagering home chalk, road 'dogs running a very profitable 12-6 and 4-1 when the moneyline is -141 or higher.

Barry's trend towards visiting underdogs makes it tempting to play the Snakes for a big payoff in this one. It's even more attractive when considering Mattingly may not have closer Kenley Jansen today after using him in each of the previous two games. Jansen has only pitched three straight days once this season, and that was following an 8-day layoff with the all-star break coming up in July.

But I'm going to run with a free MLB pick on the total, instead. It's going to be a warm afternoon in the 90012, the thermometer climbing into the low-to-mid 90s with an 8-10 mph SW breeze (out to right). My play will be on the lumber in both lineups to send this one past the total.
Free MLB Pick: Diamondbacks-Dodgers Over 7 (-110) at 5Dimes
Season: 113-114 (-1.65)
