The Starting Pitchers
The Blue Jays will send veteran knuckleball specialist R.A. Dickey to the mound this evening. Dickey has been a far cry from the CY Young winning pitcher he was in 2012. He’s gone a disappointing 12-16 against the money this season with an unimpressive 4.10 ERA. Dickey has gone 1-4 against the money in his last 5-starts, and has seen 4 of those 5 go over the total. In those 5-outings he’s posted a lofty 4.40 ERA and 1.47 WHIP. Dickey has gone 0-3 against the money in his last 3-starts at Tampa with a 6.00 ERA.

The Rays Jeremy Hellickson has 5 career starts at home versus the Blue Jays, and all of those outings have come since the 2011 season. In those 5-starts he’s posted a stellar 2.32 ERA. Hellickson has had an abbreviated 2014 campaign after starting the year on the disabled list, and he’s posted a stellar 2.96 ERA in 8-starts. He’s seen 21 of 27 career starts at home go under the total when facing opponents with a winning record.

Jays Playoff Hopes Hanging on a Thread
The Toronto Blue Jays enter this series with a modest 2-game win streak. However, even with that recent good fortune, they still have gone a dismal 9-17 over their last 26-games, and as a result are now 5.5-games out of the final wild card position, with just 26-games left to play.

Disappointing Year for the Rays
The Rays entered the 2014 season as a very confident ball club, and fully expected to be at the very least in contention for a playoff spot heading into September. Needless to say, it just never materialized for them, and short of a late season miracle, they won’t be part of the 2014 postseason. All they have to do is look at their miserable 31-38 home record, and that ultimately deprived them from ever being a serious threat. The Rays have been the 5th worst team to wager on in all of baseball in 2014. Only the Rangers, Red Sox, Diamondbacks, and Rockies have been worse against the money line than the Rays.

MLB Betting System
Any American League money line home favorite of -110 or more, that has an on-base-percentage of .320 or less on the year, and has a starting pitcher with an ERA of 3.20 or less, versus an AL opponent with a starting pitcher who has a WHIP of 1.30 to 1.35, has gone 44-12 (78.6%) during the past 18-seasons.
