Ross Benjamin has been doing great with his MLB picks for the past weeks, so take the time to read this betting preview and the added MLB pick for the Mets vs. Dodgers matchup.

Mets on the Left Coast for Series versus Dodgers
The Dodgers will host the Mets on Friday at 10:10 PM ET. This will be the first meeting of the season between these National League clubs. Since 2013 the Dodgers have gone 9-3 versus the Mets, and that includes 5-1 at home. This head to head series has also gone 8-2-2 over the total during that same time frame.

Starting Pitchers
The Mets will call on Noah Syndergaard for Friday’s start. The young right-handed hurler has gone 0-4 in his road team starts with a large 7.45 ERA and 1.81 ERA. This will be his first career appearance versus the Dodgers.

Clayton Kershaw gets the starting assignment tonight for the Dodgers. Kershaw’s pitching performance line in 2015 may indicate he’s less dominant than he’s been in recent years. However, he’s still one of the five best starting pitchers in all of baseball. In seven starts at home this year, Kershaw has posted a stellar 2.31 ERA, 0.90 WHIP, and compiled nearly an 8:1 strikeout to walk ratio. The two time Cy Young winner is 7-0 in his career team starts versus the Mets with an excellent 1.62 ERA, and that includes a miniscule 0.39 ERA in the three outings at Dodger Stadium.

Home and Away Splits
There’s certainly a huge disparity in this game tonight pertaining to home and away records. The Dodgers have gone an outstanding 27-13 (.675) at home. On the other hand, the Mets are a dismal 11-27 (.290) on the road in 2015.

Final Analysis
The Dodgers enter today 6-2 in their last eight games. The Mets have lost three in a row, and are a poor 4-10 in their previous fourteen games. The majority of the Mets recent lack of success can be traced directly back to their anemic offensive numbers. They’ve scored 2 runs or less in 9 of the last 10, and 12 of their previous 14 games. The Mets have averaged a paltry 5.7 hits per game over their last ten.

There’s no sense in overanalyzing this game. Sometimes keeping it simple is the better part of wagering valor. I love the Dodgers to win in an absolute blowout, and one of Friday’s MLB picks will be reflective of just that. Pinnacle has the best value pertaining to a run-line wager.

MLB Pick: Dodgers -1.5 (+106) as a run-line selection at Pinnacle.
