Baltimore has taken the first two games of this series, including a 4-3 decision Wednesday. Which way should we go for our free MLB pick when the O's shoot for the sweep Thursday night (7:05 pm ET)?

Thursday's Betting Odds
As of Thursday morning 5Dimes was chalking LA and Tyler Skaggs at -113, with Baltimore and Bud Norris getting +108. And most sportsbooks were listing the total on tonight's game at nine runs.

Wednesday Re-Hash
Baltimore scored twice in the first inning and twice more in the fourth, then held on from there for a 4-3 victory. The O's won as home dogs for the second straight night, this time getting +125 on Wednesday's MLB betting line, and the game stayed 'under' its total of eight runs.

We backed the 'over' eight runs for our free MLB pick on Wednesday's game, and we looked pretty good with the game at 4-3 in the fifth inning. But to our great frustration neither team scored another run after that.

Thursday's Starters
Norris (8-7, 3.94) is only 5/17 on quality starts this season. Last time out he gave up four runs in five innings against Seattle, although just before that he held the Angels, one of the better lineups in the league, to one earned run through 6 2/3 innings.

On the season Norris has allowed 93 hits in 103 innings, walked 34 and struck out 76. Baltimore is 10-7 in games Norris has started, with the totals tilting toward the 'unders' by a 12-5 margin.

Since the beginning of last season, when he was with Houston, Norris has started five times against the Angels, holding them to just two ER and 28 hits through 34 2/3 innings; his teams won four of those games, and all five of those contests played 'under' the totals.

Lefty Skaggs (5-5, 4.49) is 7/17 on quality starts this season. Last time out he held Detroit, one of the best offenses in baseball, to one run through 5 2/3 innings. But in his three starts previous to that he gave up 14 runs and 26 hits in 18 1/3 innings.

For the season Skaggs has allowed 107 hits in 108 innings, walked 28 and struck out 79. LA is 11-6 in games Skaggs has started, with the totals leaning toward the 'overs' 11-6.

This will be Skaggs' first-ever start against Baltimore.

Free Pick for Thursday: Norris, for whatever reason, seems to have the Angels' number, stifling them in five starts over the last season and a half. So we'll go with the Orioles to complete the sweep for our free MLB pick on Thursday's contest.
