Here's our professional prediction & Money Line MLB Pick for tonight's series finale between the Kansas City Royals and the Detroit Tigers. Join us in reading this compelling betting preview article.

Sunday Night ESPN Clash between Royals and Tigers
The Royals and Tigers will engage in the finale of a three game series tonight in Detroit at 8:05 PM ET. The game will be televised nationally by ESPN. According to the MLB betting odds at BetOnline, Detroit is a -121 money line favorite, and the posted total is 9.0.

Head to Head Meetings
The teams have split the first two games of this series with Kansas City winning yesterday 6-2, and Detroit taking the opener on Friday 6-5. This will be the seventh overall meeting between these Central Division rivals in 2015, and each club has won three games. The Royals (19-11) enter today atop the division, and hold a narrow half game lead over second place Detroit (19-12).

Starting Pitchers
Chris Young will make his second start of the season for the Royals on Sunday. The veteran 34 year old 6’10 right-hander has also worked in relief this season, and has been inserted into the starting rotation in order to replace injured Jason Vargas. Ironically his only other start came on May 1st versus these very same Detroit Tigers. In that outing, Young was terrific, allowing no earned runs on 0 hits, and struck out nine in five innings of work. Young earned the win in that 4-1 Royals victory, and is now 3-0 versus Detroit since the start of the 2014 season, and compiled an excellent 1.06 ERA in those outings. One additional note, Tigers star Miguel Cabrera has gone just 2-for-16 (.125) in his career versus Young.

Shane Greene will get the nod on the mound for the Tigers this evening. Greene was terrific in his first three starts of the season, posting a superb 0.39 ERA in those outings. However, he’s been the polar opposite in his last three starts, compiling an atrocious 16.34 ERA and monster 2.64 WHIP during that time frame.

Final Analysis
If you haven’t figured it out by reading the previous two paragraphs, the Royals will have a decided edge in starting pitching tonight based on each hurlers recent form. The Tigers have gone an outstanding 13-4 during day games this season. Contrarily, they’re just 6-8 at night, averaging just 2.6 runs per outing, and hitting a paltry .226 as a team in those fourteen games. I’m going to side with the money line road underdog in this game for one of my MLB picks on Sunday.
