Even with a full slate of MLB games throughout Wednesday, this isn’t the best betting card that I’ve seen in a while. Making a profit is the objective as we provide you with our free betting picks.

I fought so hard to get back to respectability, was going for the knockout punch, but the books fought back. Now, it’s time to “get off the deck” and come back with a barrage of wins of my own. In other words, we’re looking for that day that will get the streak going again because I’m a super streaky capper. Time for some winners with good analysis.

Los Angeles Dodgers (69-52) vs. Atlanta Braves (60-59)
Digging Deep
On a day with some flatout lousy matchups we have to dig down deep to find something that looks appealing. The Dodgers and the Braves get together again at Turner Field and the Braves are going the wrong way, just 1 game away from a .500 record. Now, they must face Hyun-Jin Ryu and tough Los Angeles offense to avoid that scenario. Atlanta sends Ervin Santana (11-6 ,3.69) to the mound and he’s definitely been a positive in a season of negatives for the Braves.

The Braves are coming off of a 4-2 loss in which Dan Haren bested Mike Minor. Atlanta was the betting favorite yesterday and we capitalized. With a more effective Santana taking the mound, we either have the option of taking the under with two good pitchers starting and a lackluster Braves offense or siding with the Dodgers again as the underdog as Atlanta doesn’t deserve consideration the way that they have played over the last 10-15 games.

I was so hyped up on L.A. last night only to see that the red hot Adrian Gonzalez wasn’t in the lineup. Gonzalez’s presence would solidify my backing of the Dodgers as Yasiel Puig has stopped producing and the Dodgers have had to rely on Carl Crawford. We look at the injury report and thankfully Gonzo isn’t listed. Even though I like the under on this game, 7 runs are a bit light. I’m going to side with the better team that has momentum and starting pitcher that I can count on in Ryu. In Ryu’s last outing, he allowed just 2 hits in 7 innings as he defeated the Los Angeles Angels to pick up his 4th straight decision.

St. Louis Cardinals (62-56) vs. Miami Marlins (59-60)
In A Corner
After a disappointing loss to Miami last night in which ace, Adam Wainwright, didn’t receive run support, the Cards are starting to back themselves into a corner in the tight National League Central Division. They were lucky that division leading Milwaukee lost also, but with Justin Masterson (1-1, 11.25) taking the mound tonight against the fish on the road, the Cardinals can’t feel too confident.

A Poor Pickup
Cleveland was more than happy to unload an ineffective Masterson who has a near 6.00 ERA on the season and has allowed 15 runs in his last 10 innings. This is a big statement game for St.Louis and Masterson. They can ill-afford to sink deeper in the division.

St. Louis’ offensive statistics are average which is indicative of their record, but the one stat that stands out the most is runs scored. While the Cards are 11th in on-base percentage, they’re 29th in the league in runs scored. This means that the power hitters aren’t knocking in the guys that are getting on base. Matt Carpenter has had somewhat of a disappointing season, but Matt Holliday really needs to get it into gear if the Cards expect to win. Holliday has 12 HR, 59 RBI, and a .268 BA. On this team, those numbers are simply not good enough.

Even though Miami is an up and coming team, my gut says that the Cardinals will prevail in this game as the underdog.

As I stated earlier, today’s slate of games is a very poor one and if we hit one underdog out of the two that I provided, we’re on the plus side and hopefully tomorrow’s games will be more attractive.
