Chicago Cubs
The Chicago Cubs have won five of their last six games, including yesterday's 7-2 win against the Brewers. Jake Arrieta won his 16th straight decision, David Ross hit a solo home run and Anthony Rizzo and Tommy La Stella added RBI doubles to help the Cubs improve to 16-5, their best 21-game start since going 17-4 in 1907.

The Cubs rank second in the majors with 123 runs scored, 10th with a .255 batting average and 8th with 26 home runs. Chicago is third in MLB with a 2.58 ERA and first with an 0.96 WHIP.

Pitching Matchup
Aaron Blair (0-1, 5.06 ERA) vs. Jon Lester (2-1, 1.98 ERA)
The Braves will give the ball to Aaron Blair, who just made his first career start, a 3-2 loss at home against the Mets, when he gave up three earned runs on six hits and two walks in 5.1 innings. Blair was 3-0 with a 1.42 ERA in three starts at AAA Gwinnett this season and he was 26-13 with a 3.13 ERA in 67 games (66 starts) in his career in the minors.

Jon Lester will take the hill for the Cubs. The left-hander is 2-1 with a 1.98 ERA in four starts this season. He went 11-12 with a 3.34 ERA in 32 starts last year, including 7-9 with a 3.60 ERA in 20 home starts. Lester is 3-2 with a 2.78 ERA in five career starts against the Braves and 40-27 with a 3.13 ERA in day games.

Betting Trends
The Braves are 1-5 in day games, 5-17 in games played on a grass field, 2-5 against left-handed starters, 2-10 when playing against a team with a winning record and 12-42 in their last 54 road games.

The Cubs are 6-2 in home games, 16-5 in games played on a grass field, 11-4 against right-handed starters, 4-1 when the total is 8 to 8.5 and 30-12 in their last 42 home games.

Final Analysis
The Chicago Cubs are favored on the MLB odds board at -260 while the Atlanta Braves are at +237 and the total has been set at 8. These two teams are heading in opposite directions. The Braves have one of the worst offenses in the majors and their pitching hasn't been impressive either. The Cubs are the best team in the majors for a reason and Jon Lester has been consistent so far. Look for Chicago to have a field day against Blair. Im taking the Cubs -206 with one of my MLB picks on Friday.
