Toronto Blue Jays
The Toronto Blue Jays snapped a three-game losing streak with their win in the series opener with the A's. Troy Tulowitzki hit two solo home runs in the victory while Josh Donaldson added a three-run shot and J.A. Happ allowed just three runs and seven hits in seven innings to improve to 3-0. Happ is now 4-0 with a 2.95 ERA in eight career games against the Athletics.

The Blue Jays rank 12th in the majors with 70 runs scored, 23rd with a .228 batting average and 16th with 16 home runs. Toronto is 20th in MLB with a 3.60 ERA and 11th with a 1.26 WHIP.

Pitching Matchup
Eric Surkamp (0-1, 3.68 ERA) vs. Drew Hutchinson (0-0, 0.00 ERA)
Eric Surkamp will take the hill for the Athletics. He is winless in three starts this season and overall he is 2-4 with a 6.14 ERA in 10 career starts. Surkamp is 0-0 with a 2.08 ERA in six relief apperances against the Blue Jays, so this will be his first career start against them.

Drew Hutchison will make his first start of the season for the Blue Jays. He went 13-5 with a high 5.57 ERA in 30 games (28 starts) last season, although he was 11-2 with a 2.91 ERA at home, so he obviously strong at Rogers Centre. Hutchinson is 1-1 with a 3.55 ERA in two career starts against the Athletics and he is 10-10 with a 5.23 ERA in 26 day games (25 starts).

Betting Trends
The Athletics are 3-3 in day games, 5-3 when playing against a team with a losing record, 3-10 in their last 13 games on astroturf and 1-7 in their last eight games in Toronto.

The Blue Jays are 28-12 in their last 40 games against a team with a winning record, 3-0 when playing on Sunday, 5-3 in day games and 17-4 in Drew Hutchinson's last 21 starts on astroturf.

Final Analysis
The Toronto Blue Jays are favored on the MLB odds board at -148 while the Oakland Athletics are at +138 and the total has been set at 9.5. The A's are playing very well but the Blue Jays finally exploded offensively on Saturday and Hutchinson loves pitching at home, where he is 20-7 in his career, including 11-2 last season. I'll trust Hutchinson's track record at Rogers Centre and the betting trends for this game and take the Blue Jays -148 with one of my MLB picks on Sunday.
