In today’s biggest matchup in college basketball we have a nice spot for an upset when Kansas visits West Virginia. Find out how we will place our NCAA Basketball pick inside this betting preview.

Mission Impossible
That is the theme when teams visit Kansas, they are nearly impossible to beat at home. On the road though, we see a different story for the Jayhawks. This season they are a decent 5-3 on the road, so not bad, but other teams can look at them in a much different light when they travel. Not including a well over matched Texas Tech on the road Kansas has averaged 41% shooting and 37% beyond the arc both below their average of 44% and 40% respectively (this includes where they shot 50% beyond the arc in a loss at Oklahoma State). Like most every program in college they are not as efficient on the road, and I think that is why the NCAA basketball odds board show the line so low.

<var>For More Hoop Action Tonight, Check our NCAA Basketball ATS Pick of the Day</var>

Memento
That should be the theme for West Virginia. They just lost big on the road at Iowa State and two games ago they got walloped at home against Baylor by 18. In that home contest they just did not play well and the Bears shot lights out, it happens to a lot of good teams at one point during the season, even at home so it’s best to forget it.

Despite that loss to the Bears the other two losses at home were by two to the Cyclones and one to LSU, both extremely good teams. In their last four home wins the Mountaineers have shot 44% and 34% beyond the arc both above their 41% and 30% average for the year. In their last two home losses they have been poor shooting around 34%. The overall trend though, as it is with most teams, is that they are simply a better team at home.

There is one key stat that jumps out at me. In this home and away difference Kansas is averaging 66 points a game on the road. West Virginia is 16-0 this year when holding opponents to 69 points or less.

As mentioned earlier, the odds makers once again are put in kind of a tough situation. Sportsbooks with NCAA college hoop wagers have made Kansas the favorite at -1.5. This makes sense with their superior record, and well honestly, the name on their chest.

With the bad loss to Baylor earlier and with Kansas handling Baylor by 10 just the other day you would think the Jayhawks would come out as a more solid favorite. I am not surprised though, and it looks like again the odds makers are pushing us a bit towards the Jayhawks when the value is with the Mountaineers. I think Huggins will have his team primed for the upset on their home floor. So I suggest adding West Virginia plus the money line to your NCAA Basketball picks tonight.

Free NCAA Basketball Pick: West Virginia +107 at 5Dimes

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":361901, "sportsbooksIds":[19,43,227,1096,999996,93,238,123,139], "LineTypeId":5, "PeriodTypeId":1}[/]
