The Diamondbacks have had a nice start to the 2017 MLB Regular Season, but will have to keep playing good baseball with the Dodgers and Rockies also performing very well in the NL West. Paul Goldschmidt and Arizona will look to keep its Spring momentum going and with Ramon de Jesus such a strong Under umpire of late, possibly getting involved in the Totals market may be a Pick along with the Snakes here in Game 3 of this NL West series from Petco Park in sunny San Diego on Sunday.

Odds Overview

Arizona Diamondbacks at San Diego Padres (FS-Arizona, FS-San Diego, COX 96, DTV 686, DTV 694, 4:40 p.m. ET): Petco Park in beautiful San Diego is the site of Game 3 of the NL West series on Sunday between the surging Diamondbacks (W4 into Saturday) and the slumping Padres (L4). Offshore sportsbooks have RHP Zack Godley (1-0, 1.93 ERA) and the Diamondbacks slight favorites (-108) over LHP Clayton Richard (2-5, 4.86 ERA) and the Padres (-102) after both were at -105 at BetOnline with a Total of 8½. On Friday in Game 1, Arizona scored 8 runs in the Top of the 1st Inning en route to a 10-1 win and the Snakes were 5-3 against the Padres but 2-2 San Diego this season despite allowing just 8 Runs in 4 games heading into Game 2 on Saturday where Arizona were again the favorites (Ray-Perdomo: AZ -122., 7½, 5Dimes).

Arizona Diamondbacks

The Diamondbacks (50/1 to win World Series, BetDSI) are still playing really good baseball, but Arizona (18-8 Home) is still one of those teams who is playing better at Home than on the Road (7-10). On Saturday in Game 2, Diamondbacks Manager Torey Lovullo penciled in a starting lineup of: SS Owings, RF Peralta, 1B Goldschmidt, 3B Lamb, LF Tomás, 2B Drury, C Herrmann, CF Fuentes with SP Robbie Ray. Arizona traded Panamanian RHP Enrique Burgos to the Braves for cash considerations and reinstated C Chris Iannetta off the 7-Day Concussion DL.

The Diamondbacks (14/1 to win NL, Bovada) are 4-0 L4 on Grass and 7-2 in Godfrey’s L9 Starts vs. Teams with Losing Records but 1-5 L6 Road games vs LHP. The Under is 22-7 L29 ‘Zona Road games and 20-8-1 L29 Ray Road Starts.

San Diego Padres

The Padres (700/1 to win World Series, BookMaker) and Manager Andy Green have the worst Run Differential in MLB (-81) after San Diego (152 RF-233 RA) continues to slump (2-8 L10, 7-19 L26), as many thought it would with a AAA-ish MLB Roster. On Saturday in Game 2 on Fedora Night, the Padres (8-13 at Home) had a Batting Order of: CF Margot, LF Szczur, 1B Myers, 2B Solarte, RF Renfroe, C Hedges, 3B Spangenberg, SS Aybar with RHP Luis Perdomo getting the start.

San Diego (200/1 to win NL, Bovada) is 0-5 L5 vs. NL West, 18-44 L62 Game 3’s and 13-39 L52 Sundays. The Over is 10-4-1 L15 San Diego Home games, 33-16-2 L51 at Home vs. RHP Starter while the Under is 6-1 L7 Game 3’s Richard pitches and 4-1 his L5 Sunday Starts.

San Diego Weather, Series, Umpire Trends

TWC Forecast for San Diego on Sunday is Sunny with a High of 79° with 10-15 mph West Winds, so, another gorgeous Spring day in San Diego County for America’s Pastime. Snakes Starter Zack Godley will make his fourth start for the injured Shelby Miller (Out for year) and is coming off a nice outing against the mets in which he allowed 1 ER in 6.2 IP. Padres southpaw Richard has some ugly numbers, but pitches better at Petco Park than on the Road. The Umpire Trends reveal Ramon de Jesus to be an Under-Ump with the Under 10-2-2 his L14 behind the dish and 5-0-2 his L7 Sunday games. The Road team is 6-2 in de Jesus’ L8. San Diego is 9-4 in Richards’ L13 Starts—6-2 L8 Home—vs. Arizona, but those teams had slightly better Rosters.

With the de Jesus Umpire Under Trends and the Under 5-2 L7 in this NL West series in San Diego and 4-0 L4 Richard Home starts vs. the Snakes, backing the Under at 8½ is worth a small shot knowing the Over is 4-1 L5 in this series while taking the Diamondbacks at the fair price of -108 seems like a bit better MLB Pick with Arizona looking to be the real deal and having to beat SD with the Dodgers (W3 into Saturday), first-place Rockies and Giants (7-3 L10) all playing so well in their division.
