Our resident MLB handicapping professional examines the series opener between the Yankees and Red Sox on Friday. Take the time to read this insightful betting preview article which is finalized with an outstanding MLB money line betting system.

Bitter AL East Rivalry resumes at Fenway on Friday
The Boston Red Sox will host the New York Yankees on Friday at 7:10 PM ET. According to the MLB betting odds at Wagerweb, Boston is a -125 money line favorite, and the posted total is 9.0. These teams met earlier this season in a three game series at Yankee Stadium, each of those contests went over the total, and there was an average of 13.7 runs scored per outing. Since the start of the 2013 season, these teams have evenly split the eighteen games played against each other at Fenway Park, and eleven of those eighteen went over the total.

Starting Pitchers
The Yankees veteran C.C. Sabathia will make his fifth start of the season on Friday. He’s off to a terrible beginning to the year, going 0-4 in his team starts while posting a very lofty 5.96 ERA. On a positive note, he has a better than 5:1 strikeout to walk ratio, and has pitched much better in his two starts away (3.60 ERA) compared to the two at home.

Justin Masterson gets the call in the opening game of this series for the Red Sox. He’s been shaky in four starts this season, posting an unimpressive 5.16 ERA. His two starts at Fenway Park have been awful, evidenced by a large 7.45 ERA and 1.76 WHIP in those outings. In his last two starts versus the Yankees, Masterson is 0-2 with a monster 12.97 ERA.

MLB Money Line Betting System
The Yankees enter this series with an excellent bullpen WHIP of 0.96 to start the year. The bullpen also had to work 7 1/3 innings during their 3-2 extra inning loss to Tampa Bay on Wednesday. On a positive note, the “Bronx Bomber” were afforded an off day on Thursday. This sets up a very profitable road underdog money line betting system which has aced the test of time. I’m going to definitely factor this valuable handicapping tool in when making my MLB picks for Friday.

Any money line road underdog of +100 to +150 that has a bullpen WHIP of 1.15 or less on the season, and the bullpen pitched six innings or more in their previous game, resulted in that road underdog going 41-24 (63.1%) since 1997. Hypothetically, if we risked $100 on the road underdog in each of those 41-games, it would’ve resulted in a profit of $2610.
