The Los Angeles Angels are the hottest team in Major League Baseball, which provides them great MLB betting value as road favorites against the Texas Rangers Thursday night.

Red Hot
Los Angeles is hitting .343 and averaging nine runs over the course of its season-high seven-game win streak, which includes a 8-1 victory over Texas as -180 favorites Wednesday, while going UNDER the betting total for the first time in seven contests.

The Angels have gained 13 games in the American League West standings over the last 32 days, which is important to consider when making your sports picks, as their magic number is now nine to capture the division title.

MLB handicappers will find that the club is 9-3 as favorites of -150 to -175 when playing away from Angel Stadium, with the OVER going 8-4 in that situation.

A New Look
Texas owns MLB records for players (64) and pitchers (40) used in a single season, which can’t be ignored when looking at tonight''s MLB odds, as it has scored just 21 combined runs in dropping 10 of its last 11 affairs.

The Rangers have the worst intra-division record in baseball at 23-39, including a 3-12 mark versus the Halos, but it has produced a 92-85 all-time mark in this particular series when playing at Globe Life Park.

Over the last two-plus seasons, the franchise is 3-7 as home underdogs of +125 to +150, with the UNDER cashing in six of those 10 opportunities.

Cory Rasmus (3-1, 2.81 ERA) has thrown a combined 4.2 innings in his first two starts with the Angels, as he’s pitched primarily out of the bullpen during the 2014 campaign.

The right-hander is 1-1 with a 3.24 ERA in 12 road appearances (one start), with opposing hitters batting .210 against him (.226 at home).

In six previous relief outings against the Rangers, Rasmus has compiled a 5.79 ERA.

Rangers starting pitcher Nick Martinez (3-10, 5.03 ERA) has watched the club drop his last three trips to the mound, but he didn’t earn a decision in a 4-2 home defeat to the Seattle Mariners last time out—giving up two runs and six hits over six frames.

The right-hander is 0-5 with a 6.81 ERA in nine home games (seven starts), as he’s served up eight home runs in 38.1 combined innings.

Martinez has put together a 0-1 record and 3.45 ERA in three games (two starts) versus the Halos this season.

I’m going to recommend that readers back the Angels as one of their MLB picks, as they’ve gone 27-8 versus teams with a losing record in the second half of the season.
