With the All-Star game completed, we now turn our attention to the betting baseball in the second half of the season. What teams should we be looking at to start quickly or slowly immediately?
Seattle starts the second half on the road, where they have been fighting an uphill battle all season with a 16-25 record (-5.8 units). The Mariners might actually have a shot to win series in the opening weekend against the Chicago White Sox, but the following series is in Houston, which will be troublesome. Seattle has a 27-22 record at Safeco Field, nonetheless, they have dropped nine of past 11 there and they will have AL East powers the Yankees and Red Sox next, which should send them further below .500.

Cleveland Indians - Ripe to Keep Winning
Though Cleveland has not been overwhelming, they closed the first half on a 16-9 run and took over first place in the AL Central. Look for the Indians to keep building on their lead against pedestrian competition and they should start with a winning road trip to the Bay Area against mediocre teams like Oakland and San Francisco. Don't forget, the Tribe is 26-16 (+4.5) away from home. After a day off, Cleveland has six home games against Toronto and the Angels, before a trip to face the White Sox. All 15 contests are against teams presently under .500.
Kansas City - Home Cooking Should Rally Royals
Kansas City starts the remainder of their schedule on a three-game losing, which occurred against the L.A. Dodgers, which is not exactly news these days. Back home where K.C. is a solid 24-19 (+6.4) at the 'K', there is every reason to think they should have a successful homestand taking on Texas, Detroit and the White Sox. The Royals are not the same team that recently went to a pair of World Series, yet they have the key players who understand winning and now back in the division race, they control their fate.
New York Yankees - Facing a Testy Road Trip
In the Yankees last seven series, they are 0-6-1 and have fallen out of first place in their division. Nobody actually expected them to defy the MLB odds to begin with in 2017 and they might find it hard to stay above .500 starting July 14th. The opening road excursion will take them on cross-country journey to Boston, Minnesota and Seattle. Having lost 10 of their last 13 away outings, one has to wonder if the Yankees have enough starting pitching and if not, this will be a losing road trip.
