Sports handicapper Ian Cameron provides a look at MLB Overnight Betting Lines for the games taking place on Friday, breaking two games that show high betting value.

Texas Rangers vs. Minnesota Twins
We should see plenty of runs in this matchup as Martin Perez and Ervin Santana take the mound for their respective teams. Perez has been less effective on the road all season long entering this game with a 4.68 ERA on the road allowing 12 runs on 25 hits in his last 19.1 innings of work away from home. Perez labored through 6 innings against the Twins last season allowing 4 runs on 6 hits and the Minnesota lineup has been hitting better of late as they’ve scored 17 runs in their last 3 games.

Ervin Santana has had B2B decent starts against a weak hitting NY Yankees lineup but is about to face a much more difficult task trying to navigate through a very potent Texas lineup which has scored a whopping 52 runs in their last 8 games. Santana has an ERA above 5 at Target Field and he was rocked by Texas the last time he faced them in 2015 surrendering 5 runs on 8 hits in 6 innings of work. Both bullpens have been taxed and heavily worked in recent games and neither pen is completely reliable to shut things down in the latter innings. This game should provide us with all the ingredients for a high scoring affair to take into account for MLB odds.

Baltimore Orioles vs. Seattle Mariners
I don’t think Kevin Gausman is as bad as his full season numbers show nor is Wade LeBlanc (a journeyman lefty pitcher) as good as he showed in his first start with the Seattle Mariners setting us up for a play on Baltimore (the better of these teams) at a solid price. Gausman had his best start of the season in his last trip to the mound against Tampa Bay shutting out the Rays in 7.2 strong innings and has issued a single walk and 12 strikeouts in his last two starts. It appears Gausman could be on a bit of an uptick right now and it’s worth noting he has pitched well against Seattle in the past yielding just 4 runs in 13.2 innings against them over a pair of starts.

Seattle will send Wade LeBlanc to the mound and despite shutting out St. Louis in 6 innings, he wasn’t inducing many swings and misses with a very low 6.9% swinging strike rate and if you aren’t missing a ton of bats, you are not likely to have success against the red hot Baltimore Orioles and their potent lineup which has scored 7, 6, 5, 8, 12, 11 and 12 runs in their last seven games during their current 7-0 winning streak. The Orioles are playing great baseball right now and pitching at least well enough to let their explosive offense take care of the rest. There is more upside and better advanced stats for Gausman and with the red hot Orioles behind him, there is solid value MLB pick in this near even money price on Baltimore.
