Our MLB betting expert offers up his top two money line underdog prices for Friday’s card. Make sure to go inside and read this revealing article that details why he likes these MLB picks.

Miami Marlins vs Pittsburgh Pirates
Miami is starting to enter the danger zone in terms of their postseason chances. The Marlins have lost three in a row and six of their last eight games. It’s no coincidence their slide has coincided with losing star slugger Giancarlo Stanton to a groin injury. Miami is now 2.5 games behind St. Louis for the final National League wild card berth, and were just passed by a red-hot Pittsburgh team who they’ll be facing today.

On a positive note for Miami, Tom Koehler will take the mound for the opener of this crucial three-game series. Koehler has unequivocally been Miami’s best pitcher over the past few weeks. During his last five starts, Koehler has compiled an excellent 1.36 ERA and 0.76 WHIP.

Pittsburgh has quietly played themselves right into the thick of postseason contention. They’ve now won four straight and six of its previous seven games. Currently they trail St. Louis by a mere 1.0 game. However, Gerrit Cole will be on the mound this evening, and he’s 0-2 in his last two starts with a large 8.10 ERA. Cole was unimpressive in his only start against Miami this season, allowing 3 earned runs on 9 hits while walking 2 in 6.0 innings of work.

The combination of desperation, urgency, and Koehler’s hot pitching makes for a ton of betting value. I’m siding with the enormous road underdog for one of my Friday MLB picks.

Minnesota Twins vs Kansas City Royals
Since being recalled from AAA Rochester, Juan Berrios has posted a sizable 8.31 ERA in three starts. That’s nothing new for the young right-hander, considering his awful 9.32 ERA for Minnesota through seven starts in 2016.

The Twins will face right-hander Edinson Volquez on Friday. That’s not good news on a couple of fronts. They’ve gone a dismal 34-57 (.374) when facing righty starters this year. Furthermore, Volquez is 6-0 in his team starts against Minnesota since 4/20/2015, and collected an outstanding 2.29 ERA in doing so.

Kansas City looked to be dead in the water just a short time ago. Nonetheless, the defending world champions are surging, winning five in a row, and ten of its previous twelve games. They still have an uphill climb, but this is an extremely confident group which has played in each of the past two World Series. The Royals bullpen has been unhittable over their preceding seven games, evidenced by a 0.00 ERA and 0.44 WHIP throughout that course of time.

Current MLB betting odds at 5Dimes has Kansas City as a -132 money line favorite. The Royals are an extremely profitable 13-1 this year as a home favorite of -125 to -175 and own a sizable +3.1 run per game differential in those fourteen outings.
