The Dodgers continued their recent winning ways Monday night with Zack Greinke, &Tuesday send Kershaw to the hill against vs. Angels. Looks like another good spot for a RL play.

Dodgers-Angels Tuesday Odds
As of mid-Tuesday AM the best MLB odds we could find on LA with Clay Kershaw was the -170 at Pinnacle, while Anaheim and fellow lefty Andrew Heaney were getting +165 at Bovada. The Dodgers could also be bet at -104 on the run line at Pinnacle.

The Situation
LA took the opener of this series Monday night 7-5, banging out 16 hits, winning as a -165 post-time favorite and, to our delight, covering against the run line. So the Dodgers have won four games in a row and seven of their last eight, while Anaheim has lost two of its last three.

At 79-58 Los Angeles leads the NL West by 8.5 games over second-place San Francisco, and the Mets by three games in the battle for the No. 2 seed in the upcoming National League playoffs.

At 69-68 Anaheim trails division-leading Houston by 5.5 games in the AL West, and Texas by 3.5 games in the fight for the second American League wild-card slot.

The Dodgers now lead this year's Freeway Series four games to none, with the OVERS going 3-1.

Tuesday's Twirlers
This pitching match-up is a rematch of a game played back on Aug. 1 of this season, a 3-1 Los Angeles victory.

Heaney (6-2, 3.18) is nine-for-13 on quality starts since joining the Big Club back in late June, and two for his last two. Last Wednesday he held Oakland to three runs through seven innings, and just before that he tossed six innings of shutout ball against Cleveland. For the season Heaney has allowed 75 hits through 79 innings, walked 14 and struck out 56.

Anaheim is 9-4 in Heaney's starts, with the OVERS going 7-6.

In his only career start against the Dodgers, back in that Aug. 1 game, Heaney allowed two runs and four hits through 5 1/3 innings, although he needed 97 pitches to get those 16 outs.

Kershaw (12-6, 2.18) is 20-for-27 on quality starts, working on a streak of five in a row. Last Wednesday he tossed a complete game against San Francisco, allowing just one run and six hits, with 15 strikeouts, and over his last five starts he's allowed just four runs through 40 innings, with 54 whiffs. On the season CK has allowed 140 hits through 194 innings, walked 34 and struck out a ML-high 251 for a K/BB ratio of almost 8/1.

The Dodgers are 15-12 in Kershaw's starts, with the UNDERS going 16-10.

Over the last two seasons Kershaw has started twice against Anaheim, allowing three runs and nine hits through 15 innings; LA won both those games.

Tuesday's Batting Splits
Los Angeles ranks third this season against left-handed pitching with a .343 team on-base percentage, and fifth with a .425 team slugging percentage.

Anaheim, meanwhile, ranks 27th against lefties with a .300 team OBP and 28th with a .358 team SP.

Adrian Gonzalez DH'ed for the Dodgers Monday night, going 0-for-4 with a walk and an RBI. But Scott Van Slyke, who played first base in his place, went 4-for-5 with four RBI. So LA was aided by the added stick in the American League ballpark.

Ballpark Totals Factor
Games played at the Big A this season are 38-30 on the UNDERS, averaging 7.6 runs per, seventh-fewest among all ML ballparks.

Injury Update
Los Angeles is a little banged up at the moment; OF Yasiel Puig and Howie Kendrick are both on the DL, while C Yasmani Grandal and SS Jimmy Rollins are both questionable for Tuesday with various ailments.

Dodgers-Angels Free Picks
We hit with our MLB pick on LA against the run line Monday night, and we're thinking along the same lines with Kershaw for tonight. Also, the last time these starting pitchers met the teams combined to score four runs, so we're thinking UNDER.

Picks: Dodgers -1½ (+105) & UNDER 7 at Heritage
