Let's review the MLB odds and cash a ticket as the Diamondbacks invade the Bay Area to take on the Giants in the first of a four-game series.

MLB Record 5-2, +2.96 units

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. San Francisco Giants

Arizona Diamondbacks (5-8, -3.8 units)

The Diamondbacks took two of three over the weekend from the Padres and continue their 10-game road trip with a four-game series in San Francisco. Arizona rebounded from a gut-wrenching extra innings loss to San Diego on Saturday only to witness Cuban defector Yasmany Tomas launch two homeruns, drive in three runs and cross the plate thrice himself. Southpaw Patrick Corbin acquitted himself nicely as well, tossing 105 pitches and lasting six plus innings en route to the 7-3 victory.

Rubby De La Rosa was supposed to get the nod in tonight’s matchup but he was called upon to toss two thirds of relief in Saturday’s marathon 3-2 loss that stretched 14 innings. Instead, the D-Backs will cross their fingers and hope that prospect Archie Bradley will start the series off on a winning note as he makes his first appearance of the 2016 campaign. Bradley was not impressive in spring training and neither was he last year after eight starts in his rookie campaign where he went 2-3 with a 5.80 ERA and a 1.63 WHIP.

San Francisco Giants (7-6, +0.6 units)
The Giants have gone from winning four of five to most recently dropping four of five with series losses to the Rockies and Dodgers. On Sunday they bowed 3-1 to their NL West rivals after drawing first blood in the third inning off a Joe Panik solo shot. San Francisco’s offense has been among the best in the early going plating 70 runs which places them 3rd in the majors. Angel Pagan leads the team in batting average at .356 while Hunter Pence 10 RBI’s on the young season. First baseman Brandon Belt is the clubhouse leader in homeruns with three on the season.

Veteran Jake Peavy takes the hill for the Giants tonight after a pair of rough outings to start the season. Peavy comes into this one with an 0-1 record along with a woeful 10.00 ERA. The former National League Cy Young Award winner allowed four earned runs in five innings of work in his first start against the Dodgers where he watched his team rally to a 12-6 victory as -120 MLB odds home favorites. In his next appearance he allowed six runs over four innings and took his first loss in the 10-6 defeat against Colorado.

Betting Analysis
This is the first meeting between the NL West rivals and we see that the Diamondbacks now have to travel to San Francisco after a 14-inning game on Saturday followed by a pitching duel on Sunday. However, their opponents have dropped their last four of five contests and their thunderous offense has been squelched recently with only eight runs over their last three games.

Neither Jake Peavy nor Archie Bradley is worthy of our confidence as Peavy has been rocked early and Bradley has struggled at the big league level. Thus, it becomes a case of pick your poison here and though the Giants have the home field advantage we would not be at all surprised if the Diamondbacks’ No.2 prospect Bradley will suddenly emerge.

The bottom line is that Jake Peavy and the swooning Giants are not worthy of inclusion in your MLB picks at a price that will have you laying as high as -141. Let’s go for value here and grab the travelin’ pup. If you're interested in more free picks for tonight, check out this profitable Angels pick in a very level series vs. White Sox.
