Aces Make White Sox & Nationals Best MLB Picks Of The Day

Today's slate of games are laced with aces. The question at hand is "Will we be seeing a lot of low scoring games?" Let's take a deeper look into these games and get our MLB picks.

Chicago White Sox vs. Toronto Blue Jays
Chris Sale is Beasting
I can say it in 100 different ways, but let's get real; Chris Sale (4-0, 1.80) is simply unstoppable and no opponent has a consistent chance of getting hits off of him and the overachieving 14-6 Chicago White Sox.

Tonight's game should be very interesting as the Toronto Blue Jays had the best offense in baseball last season and the Jays also send knuckleballer, R.A. Dickey to the mound and knuckleballers are difficult to hit.

"The Big 3"
Again, we have to thank Lebron James for "The Big 3" moniker or Bosh ,Wade, and James in general because it comes into play often. Take the Blue Jays for instance; Jose Bautista (4 HR, 16 RBI, .413 OBP%), Edwin Encarnacion (2 HR, 14 RBI, .280 BA), and Josh Donaldson (7 HR, 19 RBI, .298 BA) ) are considered the big 3.

They might not be hitting like elite superstars, but when they step to the plate, they're still a force to be reckoned with. Add in Troy Tulowitzki and this team has the potential to bust out the best 4 hitters consecutively in any Major Legue lineup.

Where Tulo is concerned, he hasn't hit well since leaving the Rockies and we know why. Coors Field is a hitter's delight as everything hit there, leaves the ball park and might be attributed to Tulo's success.

Melky Cabrera
Where the Chicago White Sox are concerned, pitching is winning them baseball games and they also have hitters such as Jose Abreu, who is the star of the squad. That said, Melky Cabrera (PED-free) has been leading this squad in hitting at 2 HR, 7 RBI, and a .329 BA.

Cabrera leads the team in runs, is tied for hits, and leads in walks, batting average, and on-base percentage. Maybe it's R.A. Dickey who should be concerned with Melky. Nontheless, Chris Sale has been unstoppable and been a strikeout machine. The road team is the pick in this matchup.

Philadelphia Phillies vs. Washington Nationals
Mad Max vs. the Fightin Phils
Although Max Scherzer (2-1, 4.32) has gotten off to a somewhat slow start this season, the offense has picked him up. When you have hitters such as Bryce Harper supporting you, you're in business, so to speak.

Tonight, Scherzer get's an easy matchup against an overachieving Phillies team. The Phillies are 9-10 and have to be thrilled with a record like that as many people thought that they were on the same level as the Atlanta Braves.

A Budding Star?
Despite Odubel Herrera's amazing .432 OBP%, Maikel Franco is the star of this baseball team. Actually together, these two players have brought Phily back to respectability.

For the season, Franco is hitting .296 with 5 HR and 13 RBI. The only big difference on this team is Herrera's 21 walks compared to Franco's 3. Franco is somewhat similar to the Mets Neil Walker.

The guy doesn't wait for his pitch and getting free passes is a huge part of this game. Regardless, I don't see the inexperienced Phillies having a prayer in dealing with the Washington Nationals. Washington is 14-4 and a true powerhouse in the National League East Division.

5 Star Acquisition
Daniel Murphy (2 HR ,9 RBI, .397 BA) has almost been as dominant as he was in the playoffs last season and Bryce Harper is the best player in the game. With Scherzer on the rubber, this game is a forgone conclusion.
