Thursday's NFL Best Bets

Adam Thielen Over 3.5 receptions (+102) ★★★

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen has cleared this reception total in seven of 10 games this season, and I have him projected for 4.62 receptions against the Patriots on Thursday.

Prior to the Week 11 outlier against the Cowboys, Thielen had garnered at least seven targets in eight consecutive games. Additionally, while the Patriots have been a tough matchup for opposing No. 1 receivers with the fourth-ranked DVOA, New England dips to 20th against No. 2 wideouts.

I expect the Patriots to focus on slowing down Minnesota wide receiver Justin Jefferson, which will create easier opportunities for quarterback Kirk Cousins to connect with Thielen.

Thursday's College Football Best Bet

Ole Miss to finish with 21-30 points (+210) ★★

Looking at what these two teams have done lately, there is a lot of value in taking Ole Miss to score between 21 and 30. The Rebels have scored 27 and 24 in their last two games, while in their two games prior to that they scored 31 and 20.

The Bulldogs' defense has not been as bad as their last five games have shown. Against Auburn, they led 24-6 before imploding to let the Tigers finish with 33. Then against Georgia, they trailed just 17-12 at the break before the wheels came off again in the second half.

Finally, in the Bulldogs’ three road losses this season, they have allowed 30 to Alabama, 27 to Kentucky, and 31 to LSU. This number is right in line with what both of these teams have been doing all season long, and the value is simply too good to pass up.

Thursday's College Basketball Best Bet

Kansas-Wisconsin Over 131.5 (-114) ★★★★

The Under is likely to be the most popular play in this game, particularly because Wisconsin and Dayton combined to shoot just 10-for-54 from 3-point range Wednesday and totaled just 85 points. However, we have much more faith in Kansas’ offense at this point in the season than Dayton’s and believe this will be a higher-scoring game than the experts predict.

The biggest question entering the season for the Jayhawks was who would replace Ochai Agbaji’s scoring production. While many assumed it would be Jalen Wilson, even though he has been fantastic this year in his own right, Kansas’ Gradey Dick’s 92 points are the most by a KU freshman through five games in 25 years. The last freshman to score that many points that early in a season was Oklahoma State’s Cade Cunningham, who was the No. 1 pick in the NBA draft that year. Dick’s ability to stretch the defense and complement Wilson (23.4 points and 9.6 rebounds per game) is a big reason the Jayhawks are so lethal early in the season.

We are getting one more point worth of value via FanDuel, as other sportsbooks like BetMGM are as high as 132.5 on the total.
