The first CIS CS:GO event of the season allows teams from the region to qualify for the Stockholm Major and therefore becomes a huge deal for the teams involved. Not only do the teams competing become excited, but with the likes of Gambit and Na’Vi involved, CS:GO fans can rejoice. Here is a compiled list of the essential details you should know, from the schedule, prize pool and where to view the FPS action.

The Teams Competing

Sixteen teams are competing in this year’s CIS Spring 2021 tournament. Eight teams received an invite, and the other eight involved battled their way through qualifiers.

  • Na’Vi
  • Team Spirit
  • Gambit Esports
  • Virtus.Pro
  • Entropiq

  • Trident Clan
  • Marlian eSports
  • WaitForTag
  • GROUND

Avid Esports fanatics and those who place Esports picks will notice some recognizable faces, more specifically team Na’Vi and Gambit Esports. These two are naturally the favorites to win the event, and revenge could be in mind for Gambit. They recently competed with each other in the DeamHack Master’s Spring 2021 finals, and Na’Vi had no problem handing Gambit a clean sweep loss.

EPIC League CIS Prize Pool

The EPIC League CIS tournament contains a prize pool of $40,000 United States Dollars, without forgetting the valuable RMR points that teams can utilize for a chance at competing in the Stockholm Major.

  • 1st placed team – $15,000 plus 1,600 RMR points
  • 2nd placed team – $10,000 plus 1,500 RMR points
  • 3rd placed team – $5,000 plus 1,400 RMR points
  • 4th placed team – $3,000 plus 1,300 RMR points
  • 5th and 6th placed teams – $2,000 each plus 1,150 RMR points
  • 7th and 8th placed teams – $1,500 each plus 950 RMR points

As you can see above, teams contesting will need to finish in the top-eight to garner any reward as only half the teams involved can take a slice of the prize pool and RMR points.

The EPIC League CIS tournament will begin its group stage following a Swiss system format, with the top eight teams advancing to the playoffs from matches in the group stage that are a best-of-three. The playoffs will witness the regular double-elimination bracket format, with those games also holding the best-of-three structure.
