There are two college football games on the Tuesday's docket and we have opinions on both MAC matchups. Let's peruse the college football odds and keep chasing those tickets!

Akron (5-4 SU, 6-3 ATS) at Miami of Ohio (3-6 SU, 2-7 ATS)
  • Miami Ohio is 0-4-1 ATS in their last five Tuesday games.
  • Miami Ohio is 1-4 ATS in their last five home games.
  • Miami Ohio is 1-6 ATS in their last seven games as a favorite.
  • Akron is 5-1 ATS in their last six conference games.
  • Akron is 7-1 ATS in their last eight games as a road underdog of 3.5-10.0.
  • Akron is 4-0 ATS in their last four games after allowing more than 280 yards passing in their previous game.

The college football odds makers have this one wrong. Miami of Ohio is laying five points at home against a superior Akron team, and I'm scratching my head as to why. The Zips have won and covered four of their last five, while the RedHawks have done exactly the opposite, losing their last four and failing to cover in all but one. Miami of Ohio may get its starting QB back for this one as Gus Ragland is still uncertain, but I'm not sure he is an improvement over backup Billy Bahl, who tossed three TDs but was picked off twice in Miami Ohio's 45-28 loss to Ohio last week.

The bottom line here is that the Zips score more points (25.5 vs. 24.3), allow fewer points (25.0 vs. 26.8) and boast a better record than their opponents yet are getting a sizeable head start. Even if Ragland does go for the RedHawks, he won't be in midseason form after a three-game absence so his status does not concern me. I'm not going to question the logic of this line, I'm just going to take advantage of it and include Akron in my college football picks.

Bowling Green (2-7 SU, 2-7 ATS) at Buffalo (3-6 SU, 6-3 ATS)
  • Buffalo is 5-2 ATS in their last seven games as a home favorite of 10.5 or greater.
  • Buffalo is 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games overall.
  • Buffalo is 4-0 ATS in their last four home games.
  • Bowling Green is 1-4 ATS in their last five games following a straight up win.
  • Bowling Green is 0-4 ATS in their last four games after accumulating more than 200 yards rushing in their previous game.
  • Bowling Green is 1-6 ATS in their last seven games as an underdog.

The only thing Bowling Green does better than Buffalo is run the ball. Unfortunately, that won't be enough to stave off the withering aerial attack that will come courtesy of Bulls quarterback Tyree Jackson. The Falcons simply don't have the secondary or enough pressure on the defensive front to hurry Jackson into making mistakes.

The bread and butter of the Bowling Green offense is its rushing attack and unfortunately for the Falcons, you can't trade touchdowns with a team that scores through the air when you rely on moving the chains on the ground. Despite Buffalo's less than impressive straight up record, it should be noted the Bulls have covered the number on six of nine occasions. Tuesday night they will make it seven of 10.
