Oregon has lost just two of its last 47 home games, and the Ducks are favored by more than six touchdowns on this week's college football odds to crush the Wyoming Cowboys.

All things considered, the Wyoming Cowboys could have picked a better time to make their first visit to Eugene to take on the Oregon Ducks.

Then again, is it ever a good time to visit Oregon for any other reason than to tour a bunch of breweries?  It certainly hasn't been much to take on the Ducks in their own backyard in recent years, Oregon sending 45 of the last 47 who have tried back home with a mark in the loss column.

Wyoming doesn't figure to become the third team in the last six years to beat the Ducks on their home turf.  Kickoff at Autzen Stadium is set for 2 PM (ET), this matchup leading into the Army-Stanford game on the Pac-12 Network.

Backing Oregon this week will mean laying 43 points on the Ducks.  SBR's live college football odds is showing 64 for the total, that number down a point from the opener.

Ducks No. 1 In ESPN's Power Rankings After Whipping Spartans
Despite coasting to an easy 62-13 win in Week 1, Oregon didn't really impress anyone with that tune-up against South Dakota.  But the Ducks really wowed folks last week against Michigan State, spotting the Spartans a 27-18 lead in the third quarter before turning on the afterburners in a 46-27 romp.

Oregon was favored by two touchdowns, and needed Royce Freeman's two scoring jaunts in the final quarter to nab the cover.  Freeman finished the game with 89 yards rushing, 52 of those coming on the late TD runs.

The Ducks divided their six scores evenly, three on the ground and three through the air courtesy of Marcus Mariota's right arm.  Among the Heisman Trophy favorites, Mariota's 2014 campaign has gotten off to a great start, the Honolulu native completing 31-of-48 passes so far for 585 yards and six scores without a pick.

Oregon's defense did snare a couple of errant Connor Cook passes in the win over Michigan State, but the Ducks also allowed over 460 yards of offense to the Spartans  week after little South Dakota put up 370.  Defensive coordinator Don Pellum has his work cut out for him if he's going to get the stop unit ready for Pac-12 play, which begins next week in Pullman against Washington State.

Cowboys Reach Oregon After 2-0 Start To Season
Wyoming head coach Craig Bohl and his assistants really have their work cut out for them on both sides of the ball just to keep the Cowboys from being totally embarrassed in Eugene.  His squad is coming off a small upset against Air Force, scoring the winning touchdown in the final minute for a 17-13 decision over the Falcons as a 1 point home underdog.

The Cowboys also scored 17 in their opener vs. Montana, just missing the 6 point cover in the 17-12 final.  Add up Wyoming's scoring in the first two games, and it's still seven points shy of what Oregon put on South Dakota in the first half of Week 1.   The last time Wyoming faced a team from the Pac-12 was UCLA in the 2004 Las Vegas Bowl, the Cowboys winning that one.  They have lost 19 straight to ranked opponents.

It should be a bright, sunny day in Eugene on Saturday, the weatherman calling for the thermometer to climb into the low-90s to keep things warmer than usual for this time of year.  I also expect a pretty fair Wyoming defense to put some heat on Mariota and the Ducks early on before Oregon's speed finally gets the better of the Cowboys.  Nonetheless, I'm going to take the points for my free college football pick.
