Athletic Southern California smothered Jake Browning and #4 Washington in Seattle in Week 11 to ensure half of the top four-ranked CFP. Let’s offer up a futures book NCAAF pick and see what we learned west of the Mississippi River.
#4 Washington Moves Up into CFP, Are Promptly Bounced by #20 USC in Week 11
USC Freshman QB Sam Darnold (23-22, 287 yards, 2 TDs) and Adoree' Jackson (2 INTs) helped lead the #20 Trojans to an upset win over Jake Browning and Washington in Seattle, 26-13, (WASH -9, BetDSI) as Ronald Jones II (23 rushes, 93 yards, TD) and USC (+290 Money Line, Sportsbetting.ag) won its 5th straight game for Trojans 1st-year head coach Clay Helton.
The Huskies (9-1 SU, 5-5 ATS, 8-2 O/U) Pac-10 Loss to USC (7-3 SU, 6-4 ATS) loss also took much shine off the looming Apple Cup—Friday, Nov. 25 at Washington State (WASH -6½, 2016 Games of the Year, Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook)—in the Evergreen State.
#8 Texas A&M, #9 Auburn Add To Week 11 FBS Upsets as SEC 2nd-Tier Stumbles
With CFP-ranked #2 (Clemson), #3 (Michigan) and #4 (Washington) all losing Saturday in Week 11, #8 Texas A&M and #9 Auburn may have been able to sneak up the CFP Rankings, but Georgia upset the Tigers, 13-7 as 8-point underdogs ATS and +300 dogs on the Money Line in Atlanta while first-time starting QB Shea Patterson (338 yards, 2 TDs) and Ole Miss nipped the Aggies, 29-28 as 7-points chalks and +240 in College Station in SEC play on the strength of a 23-point 4th Quarter. Texas A&M was the #4 team in the initial CFP Rankings out two weeks ago and unknowingly had the ideal chance to reemerge. But like #2 Clemson and #3 Michigan, a late (0:37) Field Goal destroyed the Aggies hopes.
And like the Apple Cup between Washington and Washington State, the Iron Bowl (ALA -14, 2016 Games of the Year, Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook) on Saturday, Nov. 26 at Tuscaloosa probably won’t be as significant after Auburn’s latest loss.
