From time to time on these pages, I will isolate an ICE GAME. It is a team that plays with (I)ntensity, (C)onviction and with precise (E)xecution. Read on for a College Football Pick.

Vanderbilt vs GA Tech (-6)
2016 Football Selections on this site continue their solid start. Through Wednesday, September 14th, NFL selections are 6-2 ATS, while College selections are 10-5 ATS. That is good for a combined mark of 16-7 ATS (70%) winners!  Although selections may not continue at that torrid pace throughout the season, I assure you that, if you follow the advice embedded in my analyses this season, you will have a better chance to succeed in the pointspread wars. Always remember to shop for value and to use the valuable resources at this site to put every edge in your favor this football season.

Team that plays with (I)ntensity, (C)onviction and with precise (E)xecution. Such characteristics will surely be attributed to the GA Tech Yellow Jackets this season, who have amends to make, following their uncharacteristic 3-9 SU, 2-9 ATS season of 2015. That ended a string of 7 consecutive Bowl seasons for the Yellow Jackets under 9th year HC Paul Johnson. It looked like the demise might continue in Ireland on Opening Week against Boston College. But, Tech rallied for a come-from-behind (17-4) victory and pointspread push. Though they were held to 121 overland yards, we give credit to the staunch BC defense, who had prepped for Tech’s triple option the entire month of August. Last week, in their home opener against Mercer, Tech got a major confidence boost, when they outrushed the Bears 364-85, operating with the execution of former seasons. Based on Georgia Tech’s uncharacteristic performance of last year, which finds them on a 1-10 ATS slide, there is huge value on Tech in their home contest today. The game has even more significance knowing that in the next 3 weeks, they face a gauntlet of Clemson, Miami, FL and at Pitt.

Today’s visitor is a Vandy team, who bounced back from their opening day come-from-ahead loss to S. Carolina by a 13-10 count.  Under 3rd year HC Mason, whose team entered this year just 7-17 SU (after 18-8 SU the previous 2 seasons), there is little expected!  Again, they figure to challenge Kentucky for the basement in the SEC East.  Key to this analysis is the fact that none of the current Vandy players, who have been here in the recent 4 years, have faced a triple-option attack.  With little time to prepare, they may well become a willing victim to that unique offensive formation.

This is an ideal spot to use a strongly focused home team, who will play with intensity, conviction and execution against a visitor, who may well be caught unprepared against the type of offense they are facing this week.

I invite you to put the College Football odds in your favor and join me in my College Football pick on GA Tech!
