Saturday College Football Potential Upsets
There’s one major precedent that I’ve strictly abided by over the years when looking for football underdog value. Those specific teams must first and foremost have a realistic chance of winning the game outright. I’m going to being sharing with you my top five upset alerts on Saturday’s college football board. I would highly advise to check the college football odds in these contests, and always recommend taking the points as an additional bonus.

Georgia vs. Tennessee 3:30 PM ET
The Georgia Bulldogs were pounding their chests heading into last Saturday’s SEC showdown at home against Alabama. After all, they became the first team since 2009 that had been installed as a favorite versus Alabama. Well their bubble burst in a loud manner during a 38-10 blowout loss to the Crimson Tide. Now they go on the road a week later to face an opponent (Tennessee) which has lost three of their last 4, and is off to a 0-2 SEC start.

The Volunteers have been their own worst enemy during their three losses this year which have come by a combined 12 points. Tennessee blew a 14 point 4th quarter lead at home versus Oklahoma, and eventually fell in overtime. They squandered a 13 point 4th quarter lead to Florida during a 28-27 loss. Then last week, their defense failed them miserably in a narrow 24-20 home loss to Arkansas. This is a team that could be very easily 5-0 instead of 2-3. I like them as a home underdog in this spot for one of my college football picks

Syracuse vs. South Florida 3:30 PM ET
South Florida has little semblance of a passing game. That’s not good news when facing a Syracuse defense that was stout against the run until facing Leonard Fournette of LSU. Then again, the majority if not all defenses that are faced with an unenviable task of trying to neutralize Fournette, likely will have very little if any success in doing so. Syracuse will welcome the return of quarterback Eric Dungey who missed the LSU game while recovering from a concussion sustained against Central Michigan.

College Football Pick: Syracuse +2 at 5Dimes

Georgia Tech vs. Clemson 3:30 PM ET
There’s no doubt in my mind that Clemson is a quality football team, and one well deserving of their current ranking. I also firmly believe that Georgia Tech is much better than their 2-3 start would suggest. Then you must consider the oddity of this point spread. The #6 team in the country is just a touchdown favorite at home versus an opponent that’s lost each of their last three games. If it looks too good to be true then it normally is.

College Football Pick: Georgia Tech +7 at Pinnacle

Florida vs. Missouri 7:00 PM ET
Florida comes off a pair of emotional home wins over then #3 Ole Miss, and a 28-27 comeback victory over Tennessee. Now must they travel to Missouri to take on a less heralded Tigers team, and they’ll be at undefeated #7 LSU next.

This may not be a vintage Missouri team like we’ve seen since they joined the SEC ranks, but they’re still pretty decent. The Tigers enter this week with a 4-1 record, rebounded nicely from their only loss of the season with a 24-10 victory over South Carolina last Saturday, and they’re allowing just 12 points per game.

College Football Pick: Missouri +5 at Bovada

TCU @ Kansas State 7:30 PM ET
Kansas State has gone 37-8 in their last 45 games in Manhattan. Even more applicable is the fact they’re 4-0 SU&ATS in their last four as a conference home underdog of 12.5 or less, and won by an average of 9.0 points per game. I have a sneaky suspicion that Bill Snyder will have his Kansas State team more than ready to play on Saturday. Granted the Wildcats have struggled a bit defensively during their previous two games. We also can’t ignore the fact that TCU has given up 89 points and 1015 yards combined in their wins against SMU and Texas Tech.

College Football Pick: Kansas State +10 at BetOnline
