Pittsburgh has been dubbed by our capper as the 'steamroller of the week' for their clash with North Carolina, yet they are the underdogs! Read on to see why you should back them in his college football pick.

Pittsburgh vs North Carolina (-7) 3:30 ET
Each week in this space, I look to isolate a team, who will dominate their opposition at the point of attack. That results in them either, double rushing their opponent or running and passing for 200 yards, while their opponent does not. Rarely do we get an underdog in such a 75% ATS situation. But, we do today with these Pitt Panthers, who figure to dominate the line of scrimmage with their strong running game against the still-suspect North Carolina defensive front.

Under 5th year HC Larry Fedora, the Tar Heels visited the nadir of their discontent in 2014, when they allowed 39/498 on defense, including at least 241 YPG both rushing and passing. Last year, Fedora hired veteran DC Chizik to improve the Carolina defensive fortunes. That he did, as last year, the Heels allowed just 24 PPG. Along with their 200 Club offense, it led to an 11-3 SU season, including 11 consecutive victories beginning in Week 2. This year, the 13 RS are led by QB Trubusky, a highly touted recruit who played 2nd fiddle to QB Williams L2Y. Much was again expected from the Heels. Though they are 2-1 SU ATS, the loss to underachieving Georgia is looking more and more problematic as time goes on. Though Chizik improved the Heels’ point total last season, the Achilles Heel remained a rush defense that allowed 248/5.1. This year, they have already allowed 289 RY to Georgia and last week to FCS James Madison 209 RY and a total of 495 yards.

Enter an angry Pitt Panther, who will be very hungry after their 45-38 loss at Oklahoma St. last week. It was a bounce back game by the Cowboys, after the refs stole one from them 2 weeks ago vs. Central Michigan. Even in defeat, the Panthers showed their mettle at the point of attack. Combined with their 42-39 victory over Penn St. two weeks ago, the Panthers have now outrushed their last 2 opponents by a count of 634-174. With QB Peterman at the controls, backed by the strong running of a now-healthy RB Connor and his relief man, Ollison, it looks like the Panthers can do business at the point of attack all day. Now, it’s the Panthers who are on the bounce back trail and combined with revenge for their home field loss to North Carolina last year by a score of 26-19, this looks like a great spot for the Panthers. I invite you to join me for my STEAMROLLER OF THE WEEK, as they not only dominate on the ground but bounce back defensively under HC Narduzzi to steal this one outright in Chapel Hill.

I invite you to put the College Football odds in your favor and join me in my College Football pick on the Pitt Panthers this afternoon.
