Saturday night’s college football betting action in the Pac-12 starts to heat up with a North Division showdown between the No. 11 Washington State Cougars and the Oregon Ducks at Autzen Stadium in Eugene with FOX carrying the national broadcast starting at 8 p.m. (ET). The Cougars have covered against the closing spread in the last seven meetings.

Washington State at Oregon Game Overview

The Cougars have climbed up the national rankings on the strength of their perfect 5-0 straight-up start. They have covered against the spread in their last three games including last week’s huge 30-27 upset against USC as five-point home underdogs. The total stayed UNDER the closing 59-point betting line in that game and it has stayed UNDER in three of their first five games. This will be Washington State’s first road game of the season.

In last Saturday’s upset against the Trojans, Cougars’ quarterback Luke Falk completed 34-of-51 passing attempts for 340 yards and two touchdowns. His top target was Tavares Martin Jr. with six catches for 55 yards and a score, but the big play ability of Renard Bell led to three receptions for 101 yards. Jamal Morrow led the ground game with 91 yards and a score on just six carries and he is the team’s leading rusher on the year with 284 yards on 34 rushing attempts.

Oregon has split its first two conference games this season starting with a tight 37-35 loss to Arizona State as a 14.5-point road favorite followed by last Saturday’s 45-24 victory against California as a 16.5-point favorite at home. Overall, the Ducks are 4-1 SU with a 3-2 record ATS. The total has gone OVER in three of the five games. They have closed as double-digit favorites in each of their first five outings.

The biggest issue coming into this game is the overall health of the team with an injury report that reads like a grocery list. Quarterback Justin Herbert will miss a substantial amount of time with a broken collarbone and backup Taylor Alie is questionable for Saturday with a head injury. The Ducks also have four additional players on offense listed as questionable for this game including their leading rusher Royce Freeman. This could take a big chunk out of a 49.6-point scoring average that is the highest in the nation.

Washington State at Oregon Game Betting Trends

-The Cougars have gone 14-6 ATS in their last 20 conference games, but they are just 1-5 ATS in their last six games against a team with a SU winning record. The total has gone OVER or ended as a PUSH in nine of their last 12 games against a Pac-12 opponent.

-The Ducks are 1-7-1 ATS in their last nine games following a SU win and they have gone 5-12 ATS in their last 17 home games. The total has gone OVER in 10 of their last 14 conference games.

-The underdog in this series has covered in the last seven meetings and the total has gone OVER in the last four meetings in Oregon.

Washington State at Oregon Free NCAAF Pick

The Cougars will have to fight hard against a letdown this week coming off that big win over USC, but they are catching an Oregon team that has been devastated with injuries to some key personnel. The Ducks are deep enough to patch things together to keep things interesting, but I like the UNDER on 60.5 points at SBR Odds as my top college football pick in this matchup.
