The Virginia Tech Hokies face Notre Dame in a game that is expected to be very tight, as the NCAAF Odds prove. Our expert capper, Troy West, provides a look into this clash and reveals an interesting betting angle to consider.

Virginia Tech vs Notre Dame

After receiving all the momentum and off the field positives they could possibly wish for with Duke squeaking past North Carolina; Virginia Tech really found a bizarre opportunity to throw in a horrendous performance against Georgia Tech. The Fighting Irish on the other hand, brutalized Army in a blowout 44-6 victory in what could be a sizeable change in giving the Irish some positive energy towards the end of the year. DeShone Kizer again was inconsistent despite throwing 17 of 28 for 209 yards, albeit with an interception. Malik Zaire did take over in the fourth quarter and Brian Kelly’s outfit gained ground with the run game with both Tarean Folston and Josh Adams each rushing for a score.

For the Hokies… Things weren’t so positive. The defense was gashed by Matthew Jordan, who was making his first career start and the Hokie offense combined for four turnovers despite not having a single turnover in their previous three. With this contest approaching, do we expect Notre Dame to return to their former ways this year? After every win Notre Dame has had this year, they’ve lost the next game and they’ve also lost to pretty much any decent team they’ve faced. Miami Hurricanes probably being the exception.

As of writing, Virginia Tech is ranked and those types of teams are exactly what Brian Kelly’s outfit have undoubtedly struggled against. The Irish defense has been rather shocking, especially compared to the talent of last year. Motivation should be difficult for the Hokies and Justin Fuente to come back after the total debacle of last weekend, if V-Tech is serious they need to win these games and in style. Other teams with ND on their schedule have handled them, V-Tech needs to do exactly that in order to gain some sort of faith from the College Football Rankings personnel.

As for our college football pick, we expect V-Tech and Fuente to get back to their previous form and hide last week’s game in the past. They also have a common opponent in Duke who V-Tech beat and the Irish lost too.  This team has top 25 caliber talent and we expect Fuente to re-energise this football team in a score line around 38-25. Take V-Tech
