It’s going to be an exciting Saturday on the ice with 11 games on the NHL betting card. It starts early with a pair of lunch-time games and ends off with an outdoor game at Levi’s Stadium. Here’s our picks of the night.

Nashville Predators vs. Philadelphia Flyers

Odds: Predators -135
The Philadelphia Flyers are once again mired in a slump and it’s no surprise that it’s coincided with the loss of No. 1 goaltender, Steve Mason. Backup Ray Emery has stepped in and has led the Flyers to losses in four of their last five; which is something you should consider when looking over the NHL betting odds. They haven’t been horrible in net, giving up an average of 3.0 goals per game over their last five, but when you consider who they’ve played, it’s not that impressive. They’ve played Montreal, Buffalo twice and Columbus twice.

On Saturday, they’ll face the NHL’s best team as the Predators visit. And you know that the Preds – led by Flyers former head coach Peter Laviolette – would love nothing more than to kick the Flyers when they’re down. Nashville has such a huge edge in net here with Pekka Rinne between the pipes that it makes sense to bet them here. They’ve also won six of their last seven overall.

NHL Pick: Predators -135 at The Greek

Detroit Red Wings vs. Dallas Stars

Odds: Red Wings -115
I’m willing to take a shot with the Detroit Red Wings on the road in this spot as they’re facing a Dallas Stars team that’s shorthanded. The Stars are trying to make up ground in the playoff race but they’ll have to do it without their leading scorer, Tyler Seguin. He’s one of the best in the business, so it’s not easy to subtract him from the lineup. We saw that on Thursday when they were only able to muster two goals in a lousy 5-2 loss at home to the San Jose Sharks.

The Red Wings own this series as they’ve won eight of the last 10 meetings. Goaltender Jimmy Howard is 4-0-1 with a 1.58 GAA in his last five against Dallas. Also, the Red Wings have won six straight in Dallas and considering the Stars are just 12-18 at home, there’s a good chance Detroit improves their stats in this series. Take the Red Wings with your NHL picks.

Los Angeles Kings vs. San Jose Sharks

Odds: Kings -110
This is a line that looks way off given how these two teams have been playing recently. The Kings have won six straight and are playing their best hockey of the season right now. Goaltender Jonathan Quick has been airtight, giving up just four goals in his last three outings.

As for the Sharks, they have been struggling big time, losing seven of their last 10. They are having a tough time keeping pucks of the net these days as they’ve allowed 3.60 per game in February, which is the second-most in the NHL.

This line is very cheap on the Kings and the only reason I can see is because this is an outdoor game. We’ll see if that’s a factor but everything else points to a Kings win.

NHL Pick: Kings -110 at 5Dimes
