The Tar Heels play their 1st. inter-conference game against a Yellow Jackets (2-2, 0-1) who can ill-afford to go 0-2 in the conference. Can they pull off the upset & should we make UNC the CFB pick?

Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, October 3rd at Bobby Dodd Stadium at Historic at Grant Field in Atlanta, Georgia.  Appraently, home field advantage does matter as the Yellow Jackets are a 7.5 point betting favorite and the total for the game is 62 points according to 5Dimes Sportsbook.

Is UNC a Steal?
I can tell you right off the bat, home field or not, I'm favoring the Heels as the Yellow Jackets are coming into this matchup as a touchdown favorite with the hook included. Do College Football Odds makers know something that I don't know?

Marquise Williams Gets the Start at QB
The fifth year starter got yanked in the middle of the 2nd quarter after going 6 for 12 for 65 yards against a weak Delaware Blue Hens team. Head coach, Larry Fedora, pulled off the move of the game as Williams' backup, Mitch Trubisky, was near perfect for 2 1/2 quarters, going 17 for 20 for 312 and 4 TD. That is almost perfect where the quarterback rating is concerned. The Blue Hens managed a pathetic 24 yards in the air and were grossly outplayed, 42-14.

Tough Spot For Coach Fedora
One wouldn't criticize Fedora for sticking with Trubisky, but he's going right back right back to his veteran in a much tougher game. This takes guts, but if Williams appears sluggish, I expect him to get the quick hook as Trubisky is filled with confidence. This is a simple case of the head coach being left in a tough spot and showing some loyalty. We'll see if it pays off.

North Carolina showed a balanced attack with almost 200 yards on the ground and 400 yards in the air. This is a very deep team offensively, but we have to remember that their difficulty in opponent was quite low last week.

Expect to see a lot of Marquise Williams distributing the football threw the air to a deep receiving core led by Ryan Switzer. Switzer has caught a TD in his last 2 games.

Along with being a threat to run and throw the football, Williams has Elijah Hood and Hood has had a successful season, leading the Heels with 384 yards and 2 TD at 6.2 yards per carry. Except for the issue of who starts at quarterback, North Carolina appears very strong coming into this game.

Georgia Tech comes into this game with 2 consecutive loss. A bad 34-20 loss to Duke and a very good showing against Notre Dame in a 30-22 loss.

Power Running
This is a team that feasts off of the run as 4 players have 150 yards rushing or more and those 4 players account for 10 touchdowns. Patrick Skov (263, 5 TD) and Justin Thomas (3.3 yards per carry,158  yards, 3 TD) are the grinders while Marcus Marshall and Broderick Snoddy are the big play guys.

Marshall is averaging an amazing 11.8 yards on the team at only 20 carries and is 2nd in yardage while Snoddy has accounted for 175 yards rushing on over 10 yards per carry. That's a lot of diversity and the Yellow Jackets need this rushing attack to be in full force as quarterback, Justin Thomas, has thrown for just 415 yard on just over 40% pass completion. That said, Thomas has managed to eliminate turnovers.

This game will come down to the effectiveness of the Yellow Jackets rushing attack against the UNC defense, but 7.5 point appears to be a lot to lay. Make the Heels your College Football Picks to upset Georgia Tech this Saturday.
