There's a handful of college football games on Friday to satisfy your hunger for pigskin until the weekend. Friday presents an opportunity to make a tidy profit. Here are our NCAA Football Picks for Week 1.

Kansas State Wildcats vs #8 Stanford Cardinal

"He Can't Be Stopped, He Can Only Hope To Be Contained"
This is what the Kansas State Wildcats will be thinking as they face the best overall player in college football in running back, Christian McCaffrey. Last season, McCaffrey was 2nd in the Heisman Trophy race to Derrick Henry, but barring injury this season, he should take home the trophy. Last season, McCaffrey broke the record for all-purpose yards previously held by the great Barry Sanders. This guy is a game changer, play breaker, and keeps Stanford in any game that they play this season despite a very tough early schedule. Last season, McCaffrey has 2019 yards rushing and 8 TD's and also led the Cardinal in receiving at 645 yards and 5 TD and I'm not even mentioning his special teams production. Bottom line is just like most teams, Kansas State won't be able to contain Christian McCaffrey.

This is also a Kansas State defense that allowed 31.5 points last season along with 452.2 overall yards per game.

The one major question mark for Stanford will be the play of junior quarterback, Ryan Burns. Burns will have on the job training as he's only has one 1 passing attempt to his college career. With competition at the quarterback position, Burns should be at his best as he know's that it's his job to lose.

Jesse Ertz
Quarterback, Jesse Ertz regains his role as starting quarterback for the Wildcats after tearing his ACL on his first snap last season. It doesn't get much worse than that and this a is double threat quarterback that can run the football along with passing as Ertz set the record in the state of Iowa for passing TD's in high school. Look for Ertz to come out motivated as he and his team who were 6-7 last season, face an immediate challenge as two-touchdown underdogs against the Cardinal.

Also, expect senior wide receiver, Deante Burton (510 yards, 4 TD) to play a greater role with Ertz behind center and Burton will react well to the pressure as the #1 guy for KSU.

While Kansas State is a much-improved football team, they're not in on the same level as Stanford and ultimately don't have the ability in stopping McCaffrey from breaking this game open.

Colorado State Rams vs Colorado Buffaloes

Revenge Factor
When inter-state teams meet up, there's always a rivalry and we're only in week 1. The Colorado State Rams will be looking for revenge against the Buffaloes as last season Colorado, who were just a 4-7 football squad, defeated the Rams 27-24 in overtime. Players don't forget moments like that and this season, the Buffaloes get home field advantage and are the betting favorite. Could Colorado State be good value as they're an 8 1/2 point underdog?

Sefo Lifau
Lifau, had a very disappointing season as he saw his touchdown pass total go decrease from 28 touchdowns to just 9. Liufau did miss the last 2 games of the season with his a broken bone in his foot and it was serious, but he'll look to come back strong as this is a player that holds several CU passing records.

Colorado loses wide receiver, Nelson Spruce and his 1053 yards to the NFL, but they come back with a strong receiving corp. Junior, Shay Fields (598 yards, 4 TD) will be Liufau's go to guy and this is a player with 2 -100-yard games last season in limited action. Look for Fields to see an increase in targets along with wide receiver, Devin Ross, who had a 100 yard game against UCLA last season.

Another key figure in the Colorado offense will be leading running back Phillip Lindsay. Last season, Lindsay led the team in rushing with modest 653 yards and 6 TD's and he along with Michael Adkins will hold the running game together. This should be a much-improved team and warrant being a betting favorite at home against CSU.

Depleted CSU Defense
The defense will play a large role in this game as Colorado State won't be the team that they were last season with no returning defensive lineman. Colorado State linebacker, Kevin Davis, will have to take a lead role as he checked in with 101 tackles last season, but ultimately, team depth will hurt the Rams in this game. They're not a team to force many turnovers and I don't expect Sefo Lifau and the CU offense to play loose. Oddsmakers got this one right in making the Buffaloes a legitimate betting favorite. Make Colorado your pick.
