The Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns & the Arkansas State Red Wolves play the second Sun Belt football Tuesday game of the season. Which team will be sharper? Check the betting odds inside.

The Ragin’ Cajuns are coming off a solid thumping of Texas State at home. This was a welcome tonic for a team that had slipped to 1-3 on the season and needed a boost as it entered Sun Belt competition. The season has been difficult for reasons which go far beyond wins and losses. The program was hit with NCAA violations, running afoul on a number of levels. This is a very damaging moment for head coach Mark Hudspeth, long seen as a rising star in the profession due to his ability to make and win consecutive bowl games with the school. Morale was down, so the win over Texas State might enable this team to regroup.

Arkansas State is coming off a win at South Alabama last Tuesday. The Red Wolves have also lost three games, but whereas ULL has lost to Akron, Arkansas State hasn’t lost to a team which is similarly bad. A home loss to Missouri does look worse now than it did then, but that’s still a team with SEC strength on the offensive and defensive lines. Arkansas State also lost to a talented USC team and to Toledo, which is unbeaten. The Red Wolves have not underperformed, whereas ULL has to a certain degree.

Line Moves
The line started with Arkansas State as a seven-point choice, and those College Football Odds have moved to nine points for the Red Wolves. Bettors are probably wanting to see if ULL can prove itself in the Sun Belt again. There should be (and is) general skepticism of the Ragin’ Cajuns, given their off-field programs and that horrible loss to Akron, which does not bode well for the rest of the season. Bettors also know that Arkansas State is at home and playing on a second straight Tuesday, which creates more familiarity and rhythm.

Notable Injuries
Louisiana-Lafayette has offensive lineman Mykhael Quave out for the season with a shoulder injury. Cornerback Simeon Thomas is out indefinitely due to academics. Safety T.J. Worthy is questionable for this game with a hamstring injury. Defensive back Troy McCollum is questionable for this game with an ankle injury. Kicker Carlos Alvarez is questionable with a hip injury. Running back Montrel Carter is questionable with a shin injury. Safety Christian Goodlett is questionable with a shoulder injury.

Arkansas State has offensive lineman Daniel Keith listed as questionable for this game with an ankle injury. Running back Michael Gordon is probable for this game with a knee injury. Running back Warren Wand is probable with a hamstring injury. Linebacker Tajhea Chambers is out for the season with a knee injury. Defensive back Bo Sentimore is out for the season with an ankle injury.

Handicapping The Game
The Red Wolves have all the intangible advantages in this game, and they’re probably a slightly better team (not by much, but some) in a genuine comparison. Take the Red Wolves minus the number with your College Football Picks.
