The early part of the week in NCAAF action belongs to the Mid-American Conference, and because of that we will turn our attention to a pair of college football picks out of the MAC on Tuesday that will give our bankroll a boost.

Kent State (2-9 SU, 3-8 ATS) at Akron (6-5 SU, 8-3 ATS)
  • Akron is 5-0 ATS in their last five Tuesday games.
  • Akron is 7-1 ATS in their last eight conference games.
  • Akron is 7-1 ATS in their last eight games overall.
  • Kent State is 1-6 ATS in their last seven road games vs. a team with a winning home record.
  • Kent State is 1-4 ATS in their last five games following a double-digit loss at home.
  • Kent State is 0-4 ATS in their last four games in November.

The Zips are coming off their biggest win of the season with a 37-34 thriller over conference rival Ohio as a 15½-point home underdog. They are also looking to play in the MAC championship game and are expecting an invitation for a lesser-tiered bowl after their regular season is done. Kent State is simply playing out the string, having not only disappointed their fans but have burned bankrolls with their 3-8 ATS mark. We are going to ride the wave of momentum that belongs squarely with the home team. The Zips win this one by double digits and will breeze to a cover.

Bowling Green (2-9 SU, 2-9 ATS) at Eastern Michigan (4-7 SU, 8-3 ATS)
  • Eastern Michigan is 19-7 ATS in their last 26 games overall.
  • Eastern Michigan is 11-5 ATS in their last 16 conference games.
  • Eastern Michigan is 4-1 ATS vs. a team with a losing record.
  • Bowling Green is 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games following an ATS loss.
  • Bowling Green is 0-4 ATS in their last four games as an underdog.
  • Bowling Green is 6-18 ATS in their last 24 games overall.

The disparity in talent between these clubs from last year to this year has widened considerably. When Eastern Michigan made the trek to Bowling Green in 2016, the college football odds makers installed the Eagles as just 1½-point road favorites. Eastern Michigan narrowly covered the number with a 28-25 win, but fast forward to this season and not only has the venue changed but so too has the spread. Eastern Michigan is favored by 13 across the board, and it is with very good reason. Eastern Michigan boasts the 33rd ranked passing attack in the nation and will trot out the 37th ranked defense, allowing just 22.6 points per game. Conversely, their opponents are ranked 95th in the country in points scored with 24.8 per game and are porous defensively, surrendering a whopping 38.4 PPG, which places them 124th in all of college football.

Despite the fact that the Eagles are only 4-7 this season, they have covered the number in eight of 11 contests, whereas the Falcons have covered in only two of 11 of their games. Eastern Michigan will not be going bowling this season and this is the team's last shot at redemption. The only thing the Falcons have going for them is a decent passing attack led by Jarret Doege, but the Eagles boast the No. 19 pass defense in the nation and should handle Doegee with relative ease. Eastern Michigan is looking to build on its 27-24 road win over Miami Ohio, while Bowling Green is still reeling from a 66-37 pasting at the hands of Toledo last week. Let's lay the lumber with the home chalk and back Eastern Michigan in our college football picks.
