The college football season hits week 13, and teams are either playing for very big rewards in the postseason or in-stage bragging rights, or smaller milestones at the end of a long regular season.

Air Force Falcons vs. New Mexico Lobos
Odds: Air Force -9.5
This is a game in which the Falcons should be able to control the action. Air Force is a good, solid team, one which went into Boise last week and defeated Boise State. The Falcons have won the Mountain Division in the Mountain West Conference and will play in the conference championship game next week. Some bettors might be inclined to think that Air Force will look ahead to that game and take its focus off New Mexico, and that’s a possibility. However, Air Force is a military academy. Players should be disciplined and focused enough to deal with New Mexico and handle the challenge provided by the Lobos. What also helps Air Force is that New Mexico uses a lot of option concepts in its offense. Air Force plays against that offense to a degree in practice every week. Air Force, though, has a passing game which can separate itself from New Mexico’s more limited offense. What should also be pointed out is that New Mexico still had a chance to win the Mountain Division last week, but lost to Colorado State at home. This game could have been for the division championship, but that loss showed that New Mexico isn’t quite ready to be the best team it can be. The Lobos might be a little bit hung over from that loss. Air Force should be able to outplay New Mexico here and cover the college football odds.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish vs. Stanford Cardinal
Odds: Stanford -3.5
The key point to make here is that Notre Dame continues to take on injuries. Defensive back KeiVarae Russell is certain to miss this game, while running back C.J. Prosise is highly likely to miss this game. The Irish have already taken on so many other injuries over the course of the season. Can their depth continue to work for them here? Even a deep team suffers when it continues to have to go to players that are lower on the depth chart. Notre Dame is going to find it difficult to get the pass coverage and power running it needs to win this game, now that Russell and Prosise (probably) are going to be out. Stanford has a better offense, and Notre Dame probably won’t be able to score enough to win. Take the Cardinal with your college football picks.

Ole Miss Rebels vs. Mississippi State Bulldogs
Odds: Ole Miss -1
It’s a matchup of two in-state rivals, and this game should be as close as the spread would suggest. Last season, Mississippi State was the better team, but it had to play this Egg Bowl rivalry game on the road. It lost. Now, the roles are reversed. Ole Miss has been the higher-ranked team for most if not all of the season, but Mississippi State hosts the game. History would recommend a pick of the Bulldogs, so go with that selection here on Saturday night.
