Massachusetts will continue its betting trend of going OVER the total against Ball State in 2014, as its passing attack will flourish after enjoying two weeks off.

Disappointing Season
Ball State entered the season as the only FBS team to up its season win total every year from 2010 to 2013, but its going to fall short of extending that streak due to its current 3-6 SU and 4-5 ATS record through nine games.

The Cardinals need to be respected as road underdogs, which is important to consider when looking over the NCAA football odds, as they’ve captured 14 of their last 18 Mid-American Conference games.

Since the start of the 2012 season, the squad is 6-8 SU and 9-5 ATS when getting points, with the "Over" cashing in eight of those 14 opportunities.

Welcome Back
Massachusetts returns to the football field for the first time since dropping a 42-35 decision to the Toledo Rockets as 17.5-point road underdogs on Oct. 25, as it lost the statistical battle for the sixth time in nine contests.

The Minutemen are led by signal-caller Blake Frohnapfel—a Marshall transfer who has completed 213-of-392 passes for 2,921 yards with 29 touchdowns and eight interceptions.

Over the last two-plus seasons, the program has put together a 2-1 SUATS mark as favorites.

Disciplined Football
The Cardinals rank 13th in the country with a +0.89 turnover margin per game, which can’t be ignored when making your College Football Betting Picks, as they’ve generated 12 takeaways in their last three contests.

Ball State also sits behind just seven teams in committing just 38 penalties—leading the MAC in that all important category.

On Campus Affair
The Minutemen will be playing just their second true home game of the season in Amherst, as three of their games were played at Gillette Stadium—home of the New England Patriots of the National Football League.

Massachusetts suffered a 47-42 defeat to Bowling Green as 5.5-point home underdogs in its only game at McGuirk Stadium in 2014, with the two teams sailing over the posted total of 70.5.

Prediction
I’m going to recommend readers to play the total as one of their College Football Picks, as the OVER is 7-2 in the Cardinals’ last nine conference games, as they should be able to run the ball against the Minutemen with record-breaking running back Jahwan Edwards.
