The college football season arrives at week 14, and championships are on the line. Teams play most of their seasons in a conference, so when a conference championship game comes across the way, it’s a chance to make a season a complete success for various teams. Here are three such games.

Air Force Falcons vs. San Diego State Aztecs
Odds: San Diego State -6.5
This is a game in which the Aztecs get to host because of a better conference record. That should help them a little bit, and with Rocky Long, the best coach in the Mountain West Conference this season, San Diego State should like its chances of winning this game. However, Air Force does not have a weak coach. Troy Calhoun is a very savvy and experienced coach who has done really well with the Falcons the past two seasons (including this one). Air Force took a real tumble in a humiliating 2013 season, but the program has bounced back, and Calhoun has a lot to do with that. San Diego State might be slightly more consistent than Air Force, but it seems that Air Force was looking ahead to this game last week when it played New Mexico. The Falcons had already clinched their division and didn’t seem that interested in doing everything it took to beat New Mexico. Air Force was already preparing for San Diego State. The Falcons are going to play well enough to keep this game close, by three or four points. San Diego State wins, but Air Force covers the college football odds.

USC Trojans vs. Stanford Cardinal (In Santa Clara)
Odds: Stanford -4.5
The key point to make here is that Stanford has not left its home base over the past four weeks. The Cardinal played all their road games early in the season. Then they’ve played three straight home games against Oregon and California and Notre Dame. This game is not that far away from Stanford’s campus. People will say that Stanford just played a rough game against Notre Dame, one that’s hard to physically recover from. Since Stanford has basically no travel and no plane flights over the past month, the Cardinal should be able to meet the challenges presented in this game. USC should score a reasonable amount of points, but the Trojans do not have the defensive line which can contain Stanford’s offensive front. The Cardinal had a much tougher time running the ball last week against Notre Dame. They should have a lot more success against USC, and therefore cover the spread due to an offensive explosion. Take them with your college football picks.

North Carolina Tar Heels vs. Clemson Tigers (In Charlotte)
Odds: Clemson -4.5
It’s a matchup of two high-powered offenses and talented quarterbacks in the ACC Championship Game, which Clemson hopes will propel the Tigers into the College Football Playoff. North Carolina has an outside chance, but the Tar Heels will likely need a loss by Stanford as well as a win here in this game. Even if North Carolina can’t get into the playoff, though, a win here would seal a New Year’s Day bowl bid and make the season complete for the Tar Heels. The difference here is that Deshaun Watson always seems to make the big play for Clemson when the Tigers need it. North Carolina’s defense will not be able to make the big stop, and Clemson will therefore score a lot of points in a victory.
