The college football season swings into week four, and these games – being over-under games are noteworthy more for their presence as good opportunities to place college football picks.

LSU Tigers vs. Syracuse Orange
This is a game in which the LSU Tigers might not have much of a passing game – they barely needed to pass the ball against Auburn last week – but they have one of the early frontrunners in the race for the Heisman Trophy. Leonard Fournette is a beast. He has been tearing through defenders throughout the month of September. He’s been doing so without need of a passing game. Syracuse does not have the same kinds of athletes or defenders who can contain him. LSU should be able to run wild on offense, doing pretty much whatever it wants with the Orange, who are at a huge disadvantage in this game. If you figure that LSU will score at least 38 points if not 41, Syracuse just needs to score 10 points to push this game over the number. Since LSU should have a very big lead going into the fourth quarter, Syracuse will probably score one garbage touchdown, very possibly two. This game does feel like one which will go over the college football odds.

Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks vs. Alabama Crimson Tide
The Alabama Crimson Tide are playing one week after losing a very tough and important game to Ole Miss. The energy in the stadium is going to be lower. Players will be depressed. A lot of guys will go through the motions. It’s a hangover week in football terms. Moreover, Alabama totaled 50 points (37 scored, 13 allowed) in a similar game against Middle Tennessee a few weeks ago, after beating Wisconsin in a hyped season opener. This feels like a game Alabama will win, 38-10. Take the under in this one, given the belief that Alabama won’t be at its best but should be able to shut down Louisiana-Monroe’s offense. It seems like the perfect recipe for a game whose score won’t spiral out of control. Go under with your college football picks.

Oklahoma State Cowboys vs. Texas Longhorns
It’s interesting to note how this game has changed relative to a few weeks ago. Texas played terribly on offense in week one against Notre Dame, but that was with Tyrone Swoopes at quarterback. When the Longhorns changed their offensive coordinator and quarterback last weekend against Cal, they became a very different offense, scoring 44 points and looking very competent. Jerrod Heard replaced Swoopes and instantly ignited the offense. Texas might now be a team that plays in shootouts most weeks. A number in the high 50s seems like something which can easily be topped. Take the over in this situation, partly because Oklahoma State’s offense also seems to be ready to play well this Saturday.
