The Eagles & Rockets exist at opposite ends of the food chain in the Mid-American Conference. is there anything with which to recommend what the huge betting underdog can do against the favorite?

The Eastern Michigan win over Wyoming earlier in the season is becoming more and more the result of how bad Wyoming is, not how good the Eagles are. Eastern Michigan has given up at least 44 points in each of its last three games. The Eagles are falling on hard times, and it’s hard to see how they’ll be able to match up with one of the best teams in the Mid-American Conference, one which hasn’t yet lost to this point in the season.

Toledo just polished off Kent State to remain unblemished in 2015. The Rockets look like the best team in the MAC again after playing second fiddle to Northern Illinois and Bowling Green the past couple of years. This team’s defense is what’s making things happen. Toledo has given up more than 12 points only one time in five games this season, establishing a record of performance which commands respect. When you’re able to do something well again and again, you get respected. The Rockets are becoming a more admired team each week.

Line Moves
Toledo started as a 29-point favorite, and the College Football Odds remained in place thus far. The betting public respects Toledo’s defense but might be a little worried about the Rockets’ offense and its ability to score in the 40s, which might be perceived as the point total needed to cover the spread. Toledo might win this game with a 31-7 score. Bettors might be looking for enough evidence to think that the Rockets can score 41 instead of 31, thereby being able to cover. We’ll see.

Notable Injuries
Eastern Michigan has quarterback Reginald Bell, Jr. out for an indefinite period of time with a jaw injury. Defensive lineman Pat O’Connor is out for the season with a shoulder injury. Defensive lineman Jeremiah Harris is out indefinitely with an undisclosed condition. Defensive back Brandon Bossard is questionable with a leg injury.

Toledo has cornerback Cameron Cole out indefinitely with a foot injury. Quarterback Jalen Reese is out for the season with an Achilles injury. Tight end Adam Kulon is out for the season with a knee injury. Running back Damion Jones-Moore is questionable for this game with an undisclosed condition. Cornerback Trevon Mathis is questionable with a leg injury. Linebacker Josh High is questionable with an MCL injury. Cornerback Jordan Martin is questionable with a leg injury.

Handicapping The Game
The Rockets should feel very good about where they’re at. The Mid-American Conference has been a wide-open league with offenses generally outpacing defenses over the years. Because of this, any team with a strong defense can get a leg up on the competition in the MAC, and that’s what Toledo has done so far this season. Eastern Michigan’s complete collapse on defense points to the idea that Toledo can indeed score in the 40s and cover the number with a score of 42 to 10 or thereabouts. Take the Rockets with your College Football Picks.
