Although this is just Auburn’s second season with Gus Malzahn as their head coach, we chose to use college football betting data from 2009-2013 in part because Malzahn was their offensive coordinator from 2009-2011. Because the Tigers’ betting data in Malzahn’s first year as a head coach was so extraordinary, we thought it important to incorporate more data for a more realistic assessment of the 2014 Auburn Tigers.
