Our capper has dominated for college football bettors by getting off to a terrific 15-4 start to the season. Read his revealing sports handicapping article on the game between Oklahoma/TCU on Saturday which includes his free college football pick on this contest.

Something has to give in Fort Worth
The TCU Horned Frogs will entertain the Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth Texas. Kickoff is slated for 3:30 PM ET, and the game will be televised nationally on Fox. According to SBR's college football odds, Oklahoma is a 4.0 point road favorite, and at the time of this wiring there was no posted total. These teams have met in each of the past 2-seasons since TCU became a member of the Big 12. The Sooners won at Fort Worth in 2012 by a score of 24-17, and barely squeezed out a 20-17 victory last year in Norman.

National Title or Bust in Norman
Needless to say there are very high expectations for the Sooners in 2014. They haven’t disappointed so far by getting off to a 4-0 start, and winning by an average of 28.3 points per game. This will mark their 2nd consecutive road game in as many weeks. Last week they traveled to Morgantown, West Virginia, and knocked off the Mountaineers 45-33 while covering as an 8.0 point favorite. That was their 3rd ATS win in a row. Their only non-cover came in their season opening 48-16 home win over Louisiana Tech, barely missing the cash as a 34.0 point chalk. Oklahoma has forced a remarkable 11 turnovers in their first 4-games, and are a +6 turnover differential in 2014.

TCU Striving to Regain National Prominence
Between 2008 and 2011, the TCU Horned Frogs went a spectacular 47-5 under head coach Gary Patterson, and participated in two BCS Bowl games, including a Rose Bowl win over Wisconsin. The last 2-seasons haven’t been as kind to TCU with the Horned Frogs going a combined 11-14. It’s by no coincidence the downward turn has come since joining the Big 12 Conference prior to the 2012 season. The Horned Frogs went a dismal 6-12 in conference action during that time. However, they look to be headed in the right direction again by getting off to a 3-0 start to the season, although the level of competition leaves a lot to be desired. This will be by far their toughest test to date in 2014, and marks their Big 12 Conference opener. It doesn’t get any easier following the Oklahoma game when they take on another highly ranked opponent, traveling to Waco, Texas for a date with the Baylor Bears a week from Saturday.

Final Analysis
Granted the three TCU wins have come versus Samford, Minnesota, and SMU. That’s hardly an impressive resume. However, they did cover each of those games as a double-digit favorite, and outscored those opponents by a combined score of 134-21. The Horned Frogs defense has created 10 turnovers in the first 3-games, and is at a +6 turnover differential so far. I think Gary Patterson is an extremely underrated coach, and he’ll have his team ready to play. My prognostication is this one goes right down to the wire, and the home underdog provides some betting value for your college football picks.
