Alabama returned to their winning ways over Georgia and must look impressive when they face a weaker Arkansas Razorbacks. See if we think Alabama can cover ATS with our college football pick.

Kickoff is set for Saturday, September 10th at 7:00 p.m. ET at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. According to 5Dimes, the Tide are a 16 point betting favorite and the total for the game is listed at 48 points.

Top-Notch Defense
Except for the 43-37 loss to Ole Miss, Alabama has surrendered 17 points or less and we're talking against teams such as Georgia and Wisconsin. This is why the betting total is moderate college football pick at best, and I don't expect much out of Arkansas offensively as Alabama needs to win impressively where the pollsters are concerned.

Statement Game
Nick Chubb might have gotten a touchdown late in the 3rd quarter to preserve his streak, but Alabama dominated Georgia in a 38-10 victory and kept Chubb in check.

83 of Chubb's 146 yards on the ground came from that single run and had no bearing on this game whatsoever. Rolling Tide running back, Derrick Henry basically offset Chubb with 148 yards on the ground of his own with a touchdown and quarterback, Jake Coker, was efficient on through the air and on the ground with a touchdown apiece while special teams took care of the rest with 2 touchdowns and that was all that she wrote.

Derrick Henry
He comes from a long line of big bruising Bama tailbacks. At 6 foot 3, 242 pounds, Henry has already made his mark in Alabama history. Last season, he was just 10 yards shy of 1000, but this season, barring injury, he'll eclipse that total quite easily.

For the season, Henry has 570 yards rushing and 9 TD's on 6.2 yards per carry. He's scored a touchdown in each game this season. Expect another 100 yard game here from Henry and I expect Alabama to overuse him as they need to make an impression by dominating and scoring points.

Henry is the focal point and when when Coker decides to throw the ball, he has 6 players with over 100 yards on the season to throw the football to. Last week, Calvin Ridley has the big game with 2 TD's, but on any given week, Coker can seek out a variety of receivers. He's a "poor man's A.J. McCarron", but still gets the job done efficiently.

"Backs" Are Back?"
I don't know if I would go that far as a 28-21 loss to highly rated Texas A&M team and a win over a sub. 500 Tennessee team are indications of this, but Arkansas is headed in the right direction. Unfortunately for them, they're most like headed for a 4th loss. They caught the wrong team at the wrong time. I would like to make a case for the Razorbacks, but with Alabama's defense, I just can't see Arkansas being effective offensively.

The deceiving feature about this team is that there's some really good players at key positions but it hasn't equated into wins. Brandon Allen has had a spectacular season and has connected with Drew Morgan and Hunter Henry on a regular basis.

At running back, Alex Collins has been more than the Razorbacks have needed as he currently has 656 yards and 6 TD's rushing. Collins has rushed for 150 yards or more in his last 3 games and has a touchdown in each game this season. Can Arkansas give Bama a run for their money against the college football odds?
