Each week on these pages, I look to isolate the CFB STEAMROLLER OF THE WEEK. This time, it covers the game between LA Monroe and GA Souther, join me for my NCAAF picks.

LA Monroe vs. GA Southern (-25) 6:00 ET
2016 Football Selections on this site continue their solid start.  Through Wednesday, September 14th, NFL selections are 6-2 ATS, while College selections are 10-5 ATS.  That is good for a combined mark of 16-7 ATS (70%) winners!  Although selections may not continue at that torrid pace throughout the season, I assure you that, if you follow the advice embedded in my analyses this season, you will have a better chance to succeed in the point spread wars.  Always remember to shop for value and to use the valuable resources at this site to put every edge in your favor this football season.

Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks
LA Monroe was double rushed for the season in 2015 and they were outgained overland 208 to 103 in the 6th year under now departed Todd Berry.  That was just part of the reason why this impotent 21/311 offense led to a team record of 2-11 SU, 4-8 ATS.  Gone is Berry, replaced by Matt Viator (former 10-year HC at McNeese) which saw his Cowboys go to 5 FCS playoffs.  Though 9 starters return to the offensive side of the ball, remember those numbers I quoted you earlier in this paragraph regarding their offensive ineptitude.  Of even greater concern is a defense that returns just 3 starters.  In defeating bottom of the barrel, Southern, in Game 1 (38-21), the Warhawks failed to cover the number by 33 points.  Last week, reality set in when they were slaughtered by Oklahoma in the first half, before coming through the back door with a 59-17 final as 44 point road dog.  But, they were outrushed 288-77 and allowed 640 yards.  Now, in 2 games, against a very good and a very bad team, the Warhawks’ defensive front, who returns no down linemen, is allowing 264 RYPG.  Traveling to GA Southern is clearly no prescription to get well.

Georgia Southern Eagles
The Eagles won for us last week in our ICE GAME OF THE WEEK, outrushing S. Alabama 306-73 in a 24-9 win and cover in Mobile.  Many questioned whether the Eagles’ top-ranked ground game, which averaged 363/6.5 last year (typical of their previous 4 years under former HC Fritz), would continue for 1st year HC Summers.  But, the former DC at Colorado St. and UCF brought a commitment to maintaining the same offensive sets and did so with a highly-successful veteran coaching staff at his bequest.  After 2 games, the Eagles continue to soar, averaging 363 RYPG.

Final Analysis
Amazingly enough, this line is less than 4 TDs, which could well be where it would have opened in Week 1. I can see no other outcome than a STEAMROLLING victory for GA Southern, who could have this spread easily covered by halftime. I invite you to put the college football odds in your favor and join me in my college football pick on Georgia Southern this evening!
