South Point Casino sportsbook released opening odds for the NCAA College Football season Week 1. Let’s take a look and make a couple of college football picks amidst the Madness of May.

South Point First in Las Vegas to Release College Football Odds, Games of the Year
The South Point Casino sportsbook in Las Vegas released both NCAA College Football Week 1 and Game of the Year college football odds on Friday afternoon, becoming the first in Sin City to get numbers out this calendar year, offering wagering on all of these games with $1,000 limits. South Point Sports Director Chris Andrews said on local radio on Friday he was inspired to get the numbers out earlier this year after seeing how strong and entertaining that first week of the College Football season was and after talking it over with the South Point’s legendary Jimmy Vaccaro.

The 2016 NCAA College Football season actually kicks off in two-and-a-half months this year on the continent of Australia in the city of Sydney on Friday, August 26 where the Pac-12’s California Bears will face the Mountain West Conference’s Hawaii Rainbow Warriors in the so-called Sydney Cup at ANZ Stadium (10 p.m. EDT/7 p.m. PDT; California -21, South Point) and a game most of the Aussies will probably be pulling for big underdog from Hawaii until Cal pulls out to a 17-0 2nd Quarter lead and the crowd realizes that this ain’t Aussie Rules Football or Rugby. TGFATS. Anyway, here are the opening lines from the South Point for Week 1 as well as 40 select Games of the Year carefully chosen by Andrews along with some college football picks from each.

Some Conclusions and First-Gut Week 1 and Games of the Year Picks
It honestly look like as thrilling of a College Football Week 1 Saturday (Sept. 3) as there has ever been with around a number of really thrilling matchups provided by the schedule-makers including Heisman Trophy candidate Leonard Fournette Leonard Fournette (10/1 to win Heisman Trophy, Station Casinos) and the Tigers head north to Madison, Wisconsin to face the Wisconsin Badgers in a very early Big Ten-SEC showdown in America’s Dairyland (LSU -10, South Point), an ACC-SEC helmet-knocker between North Carolina and Georgia and star RB Nick Chubb (16/1 to win Heisman Trophy, Station Casinos) in a game in which the host Bulldogs opened up as 3½-point chalks, as well as a wonderful Big 12-Pac-12 clash between WR Juju Smith-Schuster (50/1 to win Heisman Trophy, Station Casinos) and USC and WR Calvin Ridley (20/1 to win Heisman Trophy, Station Casinos) perennial powerhouse Alabama at the home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys, AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas (Alabama -10, South Point).

The weekend caps off on Monday night (Sept. 5) with a fantastic matchup between RB Dalvin Cook (10/1 to win Heisman Trophy, Station Casinos) and Florida State hosting QB Chad Kelly (12/1 to win Heisman Trophy, Station Casinos) and Ole Miss in an ACC-SEC Week 1 brawl at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee (ESPN, FSU -3, South Point) which will end up leaving one very strong football team at 0-1.
